The first line is for the unflavored Nicotine eLiquid. It can be purchased with a number of PG/VG based percentages and strengths. Three boxes are provided for that info. If you use Nicotine already at your desired strength, enter the strength in the Nic Strength box and 0 in the Target box. If you are mixing Zero Nic and flavors only, enter 0 in both the Nic Strength and Target Nic box. The second line has a box for what Nicotine strength you would like your final result to be after adding all of your ingredients. The third line (Amount to Make) is self explanatory. The forth line (Water/Vodka/PGA) is also self explanatory. I rarely use this. PGA is Pure Grain Alcohol The fifth through the ninth line is for the flavoring you are adding. I rarely use more than 20% flavoring, mostly 12 to 20% and that depends on the potency of the flavoring. If you're using more than 1 flavor, they should all add up to the percentage I mentioned. NOT 20% each but say 10% + 10% for two flavors. NOTE: PG% and the VG%: most flavoring is PG based. In that case you would put 100% in the PG box. What you put in the PG or VG box is deducted from the amount of PG/VG you add which cuts the Nic down to the Target Strength. There are only a couple of companies who do not use PG or VG so you can check the Flavor Zero PG/VG box on the Flavoring row. When buying PG and VG, stay away from pre-mix PG/VG. Buy a separate bottle of pure PG (Propylene Glycol USP) and a separate bottle of pure VG (Vegetable Glycerin USP). The calculator can not accurately use a pre-mix PG/VG. Further down there is a Target PG and VG. The PG% and VG% boxes are to change the final eJuice PG/VG out come. In other words, what you want your eJuice to be. If you receive a warning pop up to add VG or PG that is because the calculator came up with a negative number. Adjustments will have to be made. Say you have a negative for PG, you will then make the PG% higher until it shows 0. Save your recipe. You need to "File", "Save" recipes. Recipes are saved with a ".rec" extension. A ".dft" file is not a recipe format but rather a Default setting file. A Default file is when you open the EJMU calculator and your preferred settings will be automatically there. Recipes should be saved in the folder in which the software was installed in. Opening up recipes should be done via the software. "File", "Open" and not by clicking on the files themselves. Up on the Menu, "File", "Save As Default", you can now Save your settings as a default which will load your settings when the program first opens. You can create several default files by naming them what ever you like. Note: on start up, the Default.dft file will be called first. DO NOT use this to save recipes! The button at the bottom which use to be "Rest" is now called "Get Default" will open a Dialog box to select a Default file that you saved.
**GRAM WEIGHT** When you first start up eJuice Me Up before entering a recipe, enter your gram weights that you measured out and click on: "File", "Save as Default". Keep the file name as "Default.dft". This way each time you create a recipe the gram weights will be intact. (https://ejuice.breaktru.com/images/ejuice_nic.jpg)

Posted by mikespikedThe calculations are correct. A neg PG amount was generated because of the added total of 15% PG in your 2 flavoring.
I usually make almost 100% VG juices... the only PG is the flavorings... but I've had a hard time using the calculator when trying to do this. (see the attatched picture) If I input 100% VG for nic base and 100% PG for flavoring, it will still ask me to put in PG to the mix, and if I dont I get an error. I could just be doing something wrong though. Any help would be much appreciated.

See below... getting a similar problem with a 100% PG mix using 5% water. Where's the VG coming from?

Hi, excellent program, having problems printing. Gives following error when I try to print card:
Application has generated an error that could not be handled
Process ID=0x15c0 (5568), Thread ID=0x11e8 (4584)
I am running win7pro. Any idea how to solve this prob? Thanks
how do I download the calculator?? Im a newbie and having problems
How do I resize the eJuice window to fit on my netbook's smaller screen? As it is now, it's too big to display, and I can't get to the click boxes at the bottom of the window, so I can't use the calculator on my netbook, and have to wait until I get home to my desktop computer.
Wow!what a calculator! It has many uses and very high tech. This is my 1t time to see a calculator as powerful as this!
I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake with your great calculator. My problem in understanding is with the percentages breakdown when using more than one flavoring. If I have a receipe that calls for 3 flavors such as 12%, 4% and 4% do I then break it down to 3,1 and 1? That is assuming that I have made all the correct entries for diluting 36mg/ml nicjuice to 10mg/ml and substituting the 50-50 PG/VG for 80/20?
What I'm making even after steeping for 10 days bears no resemblance in flavor to what it is supposed to be and it seems to be a little too thick which has to be the PG %. I would really appreciate your help.
12%, 4% and 4% is correct.
Post what you have and what you want it to be and I'll post an image of it in the calculator.
Include your 36mg Nic. Is it VG or PG and what percent is it. Sounds like you are saying it's 50/50?
I didn't know your final Amount so I used 10ml
What brand Flavoring is it? That would tell me if it's 100% PG or not.
As far as taste goes, a little experimenting with flavoring may be in order.
Thick? it shouldn't be thick if it's 80% PG.
See attached.........
This is by far the best calculator of the bunch. I use this exclusively.
Note to user's. Take the time to look over the How to. There are a few users who have mistaken what the PG/VG percentages are and confuse the Nic ratio with the target ratio. Also take note of what your flavoring PG/VG ratio is and how that will effect the final target ratio. :thankyou:

Looking for a recipe to support your flavors on hand?
Use this: Harddisk Search and Stats Freeware software to find it.
This program does not need to be installed. Just extract the file contents into a new folder and create a shortcut to the file HDSearchAndStats.exe
Type each flavor on a new line and HDsearch&Stats will search inside the recipe files for your search word or words.

How can I add the new recipes that you add to your recipe page and is it necessary to upgrade to the latest version of eJuice Me Up?
I'd like to print the table on 4 x 6 inch notecards. Am I able to also print the notes? If so, how? Great calculator! Thanks!
I have tried downloading your calculator on my macbook and it dont seem to work when I open the zip folder it opens a text edit window with a bunch of coding. Anyone else had this problem?
ok no I dont well that sucks lol. thank you didnt think of that or realize it.
is there a osx software in works? If not can use regular computer just hate using it lol.
I know I'm interrupting the thread, but I just have to thank you again for this calculator. I can't tell you how much I rely on the calculator for tweaking new recipes and coming up with new ones. I don't know how you do all you do - modding, calculator, other software, etc., Dave, but I am so thankful for this wonderful program. You truly are a huge asset to the vaping community and you have my deepest respect. horton aka Matt

Excuse jumping in on this one, my nic base is all PG at 52% nic, so I enter 100% PG in the first box..... then the last box on that line at 52% correct yes?
Target of 28mg nic
Amount 50ml
Flavouring at 20%
PG and VG at a 50 - 50 ratio!
Why the negative error to add more PG? if anything I'd have thought you'd need to add VG? I've read a couple of posts regarding these and it's still not hit the grey cells properly to make sense? I was considering a username of gump! Thank you in advance.

So as my Gump head understands it the PG being so high the closest I can get is nearly a 70pg 30vg mix!
So with that in mind would it pay to get the base nicotine in VG instead of PG? Or to get another nic base bottle in VG and halve the two giving a 50-50 nic base ratio!
I trust your familiar with the saying "a little knowledge is dangerous" lol

Hi I am trying to get the ejuice program on my computer. I use Mac I have gotten the app for my phone but it looks like there are more options on the computer program. Is there a version for Mac or can someone tell me how I can get it to run on the mac?
I'm new to mixing so bare with me. I considering purchasing 50/50 w/60mg nic. I don't understand how it works with the calculator.
I would like to have my ejuice 10ml come out as 50PG/50VG and 18mg nicotine with 1 flavor.
What I don't understand is under results it says I have to add 2.5ml PG and 3.5ml VG ????
Do I have to purchase separate PG and VG to add.
uggh confused :wallbash:
Being able to save your recipes -- even test ones -- is a great feature of eJuice Me Up. Before I discovered Dave's fine program, I was trying to keep a written log of my experiments and recipes and per usual, I eventually forgot to write things down and ended up with a mess trying to remember which flavors I used and how much, etc. eJuice Me Up is so very intuitive to use and has more features than you can shake a stick at. I've been using it exclusively for several years now. Looked at some others but they did not come close to the quality and features of eJuice Me Up.
Sorry for jumping in, but just had to let you know what a great calculator it is and you sure can not beat the price. I thank you again for that, Dave!!!!
After having a little time to read through different posts and getting an idea of how this works it's FANTASTIC ;cheers; and thank you!
If I have 99.8% nicotine and enter 998 and want a 70/30 (p/v) target, I don't know how to make sure the pg/vg result is accurate since the 99.8% starter is not cut with pg or vg. Do I leave it set to the default 100% PG or change it to 50-50. Is there a way to zero it? I just want to make sure my base PG/VG is accurate.
Thank you!
Pure Nicotine is poisonous.
Since there is no 0/0 for PG/VG, use 50/50 and 998mg. Set your target ratio to 70/30.
Please be careful handing Pure nicotine. It is extremely dangerous and I do not recommend it's use. Read WARNING (http://breaktru.com/smf/index.php/topic,112.msg113.html#msg113) freaked_out:
First: what a great calculator
secondly: sorry but my English is not so good
My question: is it possible to open a saved note to a liquid directly in the calculator program?
when I click the Notes button always opens the note unknown.text
Greetings
Fipps
Welcome to the forum Fipps.
When you click the Notes tool it will open a new "Untitled" notepad page. Save your Notes with the same name as your recipe in the same folder as the recipes. When you have notes for recipes saved with notepad, you will then use "File", "Open" to find the note.
Thanks for answer
So there is no automatic linkage - that would be a highlight in the future
I have found that if I'm mixing more than one recipe, I can open multiple windows by clicking on the Desktop Icon again and have side to side calculator recipes opened. Neat!
I have a recipe that requires 9 flavors. Is there a way to add more flavor windows?Wow 9 flavors. Sounds excessive. Can you even make out the flavors with 9?
(Please tell me I don't have to learn Visual Basic to realize this!)
Wow 9 flavors. Sounds excessive. Can you even make out the flavors with 9?
You can put two flavors on one line. As an example, for the Flavor Name you can detail Orange 2% - Peach 2% and for the amount box put 4% etc...
Yes, I can make out the flavors. Some flavors complement others.
So the answer is "no"?
Would you please consider adding the option, "Add More Flavors" & a convenient button in your next iteration of this fine software?
(I haven't seen this fact on these pages: one ml = 1 cc.)
I welcome all suggestions and I thank you for your suggestion. Perhaps in a future update. What I worry about is the length of the form and not being totally viewable to some users that use a low screen resolution. I would have to do a total reface of the calculator layout to fit everything.
What a relief. Wen I signed on to this forum and saw the date on this thread, I was disappointed. I thought I had missed a chance to chime in. I was happy to find out it was still alive. Before I started mixing, I researched calculators until I was blue in the face. Out of all of them, This one is the BEST. Every time I teach someone to mix, I take them to this calculator and make them download the calculator and bookmark the site. ;cheers; Thank You Breaktru. That said, I would love to see a change that would allow 0% PG to be entered in the "Target PG" area.. The only PG I use is what is in the flavors and nicotine.
I have a huge screen and still it's too long for mine, but I know how to move things around on my screen so it's no problem (and it's free so I can't complain!)
But I have complete faith in your ability to tweak it and make it more horizontal next go 'round.
:thankyou:
Hi,
I wanted to say thank you for taking your time and creating this amazing software.
I've been vaping for over a year and recently decided to make my own E-Liquid so I found out about your software and downloaded it.
The only problem I have is my nicotine strength level which is 18mg. When I enter the amount and '0' as the target; after calculation it won't show the amount of PG and VG that I need to add to my new mix. Does that mean I need to add the nicotine and the flavor then fill up the rest of the bottle with my VG/PG mix?
I'm using 18mg unflavored nicotine and my VG/PG mix is 50/50 already and I want 10% flavor in my mix.
Thanks again and I'll appreciate your help.
Sean
That makes perfect sense. For some reason I knew my nicotine strength was the problem. I will figure out something and order higher level for next time.
You're the best,
Thanks
I noticed that. I just changed the Nicotine strength to 36 and put 18 as target. I'm thinking to double the amount it's giving me. I'm not sure if it works that way but I'll let you know if I ended up in the ER lol

OK C: Sorry BT, hope you don't mind if I jump in here. The teacher in me couldn't sit still any longer. C, first thing to do is look on you nic bottle and it will tell you the strength. I would think it is either 53mg or 72mg. It may be a little sticker that says PG 52 or 72mg (it can also 36, 100,or 150mg) What ever it is, put that number at the top where it says "Nicotine Strength e-Juice" and unless you purchased something special, it will be in PG dilutent, so put 100% in the PG space on that line. This is important, because the program considers this amount of PG when calculating total PG. I'll talk about TPG later. Next line on the calculator is "Target Nicotine Strength". This is the amount of nicotine you want in your finished juice. An analog cig is about 36%. You said you were looking for 18% (eg., 1.8mg). That is the number that goes in the box to the far right (i.e.,18). The next line is the amount of juice you are making (what ja wnta put in the bottle). You can make any amount you would like, however I suggest you start out with a 5ml batch. The last item in the header is for those using separate dilutents like water, Everclear, vodka, etc. Leave that blank. That finishes the header portion.
The next section is easy. in the flavor number boxes, type the names of the concentrate(s) in your recipe. Again, unless you have ordered specal flavors concentrates, they are in 100% PG and you don't need to do anything with the next group. If you are using all VG or a blend you would adjust it here. Moving right along to the % of flavor. If you have a recipe, enter those numbers here (for each flavor). If your recipe is in ml's, the simplest thing to do is put a number from 1 to 12 in the flavor # % block, click the Calculate button at the bottom right of the form and check the amount in the "ml" column below. Adjust the % entry until you get the correct ml amount. (Remember to hit the CALCULATE button each time you change something)
If you don't have a recipe, smell each of the flavors you intend to use and remember which is the primary flavor and about how potent each is according to their smell. This is not foolproof, but, it's a start. Your primary flavor wants to ave the highest % and decrease the others by the roll they play in the final flavor. Lets look at an example. I'll use my DIY Cool Blackberry Cream:
Blackberry 25% or 1.25ml
Sweet Cream 15% or 0.75ml
koolada 10% or 0.5ml
Menthol Ice 5% or 0.25ml
Sweetener 5% or 0.25ml
The first thing most will note is how heavy I flavor. 60% of this recipe is flavor concentrate. It is said, if you have to much flavor concentrate the flavor can go wrong. That is what I was testing with this mix. It came out very nice. However, we will wait and see after it steeps for 3 weeks. Back to the job at hand. The 3rd column in this group is the DROPS column. Please don;t get caught up in the easy way out and use this column. First and foremost, all of the drip caps and eye droppers will give different siz drops and you will end up wonder why the last batch was so good and this one is off. Different dropper and/or pressure.
Now that you have your juice you will want to try it. It is NOT ready to try. But, Put a bowl or cup of water in the microwave and bring it to a boil. Shake your bottle of juice vigorously and place it in the hot water' Every 4 to 5 minutes, take the bottle out of the water and shake it well before returning it to the hot water. Do this until the water has cooled. NOW you can try it. It will still change over the next few days or weeks, but at least you will get an idea of what it is going to be.
Hope this helps and again, sorry for jumping in BT. ;cheers;
Thanks for your reply.
The Nicotine I have is 18ml PG/VG 50/50. Like our friend said, you can't use 18ml Nicotine and hit 18ml at Target. I always vape on 18ml strength so I ordered my Nic at 18ml (That's the problem). I have placed an order on 60ml; that will definitely work on that awesome calculator.
Thanks again and have a great weekend,
Sean

You can still use the bottle of 18mg by mixing it with Unflavored Nic at a higher strength. See the Nic Combine tool in the Tool menu of the calc.
Don't mix it all. Make a 30ml bottle. If you are buying 36mg, add 20ml and add 10ml of 18mg. Your result will be 30mg.
In the calc put 30mg in the box Nic Strength and 18mg for the target. You will be using the Nic from the mix you made.
See attached image............
This is my all day calculator....top job Breakthru.
Doh: Is this the correct place to post a question about the calculator?
Thanks and God Bless
Sorry to break in on a thread but I still have no idea how to start my own topic. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated. My question today is, can someone tell me the best sweetener to use? I have one now but it kinda leaves an after taste like those artificial sweeteners in packets if you know what I mean. Thank you and may you all have a very blessed day and may God Bless you and yours.
Ron
On thing that would be nice to add I think would be to have an inventory of your flavors in the app. Right now I either have to go to a spread sheet or my android app to find what flavors I have available.
When you decide which Category you want to post in, you will see the "New Topic" button as shown in the image below. Newbies can not start a new topic. 3 posts are required first.

I personally have not tried a lot of sweeteners. In fact I only tried one. Ethyl Maltol (Cotton Candy). Which one are you using.
Hi there! I'm actually new to this forum but it's been like 4 months since I started using e-juice me up software.. I got a couple questions (since I still can't make a new thread) for the experts.. Why is that every time I try to make a NIC strength (like 6mg NIC) it really doesn't taste that way? I mean, I'm used to make 3mg and for me it's the perfect strength.. but my friend wanted a 6mg so I made him one and it was too strong.. we actually compared it to some juices (at vape shops) with 6mg and it really IS too strong.. it's kinda like a 10mg strength instead of 6mg.. I'm wondering what's going on and what should I do? FYI, I'm using a unflavored 50%-50% PG/VG with 24mg strength on a 60ml bottle NIC.. any help will be greatly appreciated..
thank you guys and GREAT JOB on this software! SUPER LOVIN' IT! :rockin smiley:

Can you take a screenshot of the form?
Can you take a screenshot of the form?
Well it looks like everything is entered correctly.
Are you using the drop method for measuring? If so, it's not an accurate way to measure and will effect the out come of the mix content. I would suggest using a syringe.
You normally use 3mg strength of Nic and vaping 6mg (twice the strength) will seem strong.
I also see that you are using 35% flavoring. That seems excessive. The max flavoring for most recipes are 20% total. It all depends on the flavoring. I start low and work up if needed. Sometimes less is better. Some of my recipes are only 10% and that depends on the flavoring. A strong tobacco can be as little as 1%.
oh sorry the 1st pic I posted was at 3mg NIC.. here's the 6mg..
For some reason, the pgm is doubling the amount of nicotine. The problem is the double entry of the dilutent used in the nic. Evidently, it only wants one number and it will calculate the remainder. Try putting your 50% ONLY in the PG box. You should see the nic line go from 25% (2.5ml) to the 6% you are looking for.
Eric:
I'm not following you with your quoted statement above.
25% is the total percentage of the entire mix which is correct.
Ed:
When you friend said too strong he may be referring to only the TH and not nic buzz.
The flavoring percentage is too high. The flavors maybe harsh and causing the throat hit.
Drop size for PG will be smaller than VG and the 50/50 nic. Drop size for the 50/50 nic will be smaller than the VG. So you will have 3 different drop sizes for the 3 different liquid consistencies. Not to mention the flavoring.
....is real vodka and believe it or not, the cheap, cheap stuff works the best. Question 2. PGA is Pure Grain Alcohol (Ever Clear). ...
Hello,
I'm new to the forum but have been using the software for a couple of months. Great product!!! It is much appreciated!!
So, a few quick questions:
1. Is that real vodka used in recipes on the Water/Vodka/PGA line?
2. I know what PG is but, what is PGA?
3. Is there an easy way to compare which recipes I already have with the list on the website, so I know what I need to download?
Thank you,
SueRN
Why would someone want to vape alcohol?? I'm not allowed to drink with my meds, do you get the same physical reaction to inhaling as drinking?
Did you download it yet Cajun? If not see the first post for the eJuice website. There is a download link.
IMO it's the best calc out there. Good luck with your mixing.
CraigHB :thankyou:. Very interesting info. I'll have to try the alcohol as I am steadily increasing the amount of VG and decreasing the PG.
Have you ever tried vodka? Is it less expensive? Would you use the same 6%? At what ratio of PG to VG should I start including it on the calculator?
I don't steep either. Didn't know I could/should. Which brings me to ...
:offtopic:Breaktru is there a really good tutorial somewhere that could be called DIY Vaping Juice 101? I think I have the basics, but I'm really not sure - I knew about neither using alcohol nor about steeping, so there may be other stuff I need to be aware of.
Thanks for your help!!!

To bad I'm so slow. I am working on a book, The Vaping Primmer, but it is nowhere near complete. I was back in the hospital again and that certainly curtails work on the book. They figure I had vertigo brought on by a sinus infection that got into my ear and went wild. It actually made my BP go crazy. When I went to the hospital ED, it was 221/131 and the diastolic pressure actually got higher than that at one point. Can you spell aneurism? When I was up on the floor I was in no shape to do anything. It even affected my sight.

You didn't mention the amount of the 18mg flavored nic it is so I used 10ml as the amount. I have attached images to bring the 18mg to 14mg. This will change the PG/VG ratio from 70/30 to 60/40.
You will have to add 2.8ml of 25% PG (0.7) and 75% VG (2.1ml). A total of 12.8ml (10ml of 18mg and 2.8ml of 0mg)
Adding 2.8ml with zero flavoring will dilute the taste of your flavored 18mg, 10ml so you may want to also add some flavoring if you wish.
C: I have a problem with the liquid you showed in your last post. It appears it says 18mg per ml. I hoppe I just can't see the decimal between the 1 and the 8. Otherwise you are getting 18mg of nicotine in every 1ml of that juice you use. That would be 108mg of nic in a 6ml bottle of juice. Pleeeeeeeese tell I'm blind. That much nic could be dangerous. I'm hoping for 18mg in the whole 200+ml bottle.

Now I am confused. I don't vape any Nic in my mixes but my wife does. She wants it to be 12 mg. I buy her Nic from Wizard Labs I thought it is 100mg per ml . We enjoy the same stuff but since hers has Nic it kicks my rear I hope I am not hurting her. I guess I need to reread all the instuctiones
Is anybody using sweetener? If so, what field should I enter it in? I don't see of the recipes that were provided with the installation using any.
Thanks in advanced.
p.s. Thank you fo rthis software.. I think you just made my life! I will be donating for sure!
Maybe next time I order base I will buy the nicotine seperate and add it as the calculator shows to get the 12mg that i want thanks for your help
I will keep trying mixing to get better at it.....
I have a question about mg... If I follow the recipe and I test the stuff and it is lower than what I wanted how many drops of nic juice will I add if the base juice is 48mg/l. for simplicity I want to make 1 ml of 24mg/l of juice. I noticed that 20 drops = 1ml what is the ratio of non-nic to nic to reduce or increase potency?
in my venture to attempt doin some diy one of my regular vendors totally wicked e-liquid offered a sale on a diy kit 4 fluid ozs. each pg/vg,50 ml. 54mg/ml. platinum ice pg based nic. mixing liquid your coice 5/10 ml. bottles of gold standard flavors.so now i just need to get all my measurements right and start my own diy juicey juice :rockin smiley:

erck 89 thanks for the help i was curious is there somewhere that shows like the calculator and what to put exactly where out there somewhere kinda like a guideline to go by? :begging:

edsendemic: First, lets establish which calculator you are using. This is to allow me to get on the same page with you. At the top of the calculator form, kit should say "e-Juice Calculator" and the first line says "Enter Your Amounts". If we are not on the same calculator, I need for you to get the e-juice calculator, available thru a link on the forum. I believe we are on the right calculator.
Next, check your nicotine bottle. It should have sticker on it that says "24mg in PG" or a statement to that effect on the bottle's label. DO not confuse the issue by providing the size of hte bottle (i.e., "60ml"). If it is 24mg, enter that number in the very first box, in the upper right of the form and directly below the 'Print Image" box framed in blue. On that same line, where it says "PG %", put 100.
The next line is labeled "Target Nicotine strenth" . At the far right, enter the nicotine content you desire the finished product to contain. In this case, enter "6". Your finished juice should now have 6mg or 6% nicotine.
On the line "Amount to Make" enter the size of the batch you are making (3, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, etc) in the box proceeding the "mg" label.
Next enter the name of each of the concentrates you are going to use in you juice, one to a line. DO NOT enter anything else on an individual name line, except all the way to the right in the box adjacent to the last % mark. This is a percentage of the total amount of flavor concentrates to be added to the dilutants. Not a percentage of the total bottle volume.
Last step before we hit the button.
In the lower half of the forum, there are two lines that determine how much dilutent, PG and VG, will be in the final mix. In either box put the number 50. You indicated you wanted a 50/50 mix so we don't have be concerned where the 50 is entered.
Hit the "Calculate" button at the bottom of the page and read your recipe for 6ml of x juice, with 6mg nicotine, and a 50/50 base mix.
With few exception, your mix will need to step from 48 hours to 4 to 6 weeks before it will reach it's final flavor. The concentrate requiring the longest steeping time is Peach. What you are doing when you steep a mix is allowing the chemicals (e.g., molecule) to oxidize and melt with the other flavor molecules of the mix.
I hope you find this helpful. Happy mixing (it is fun) and happy vaping. Eric
This is my first day on the forum (just found it) and I've been reading non-stop for about 3 hours and have learned A LOT!
Looking forward to collecting lots of valuable nuggets from everyone and (hopefully) sharing things I figure out too.
Nancy
thank you breaktru i see on the right side it shows 0 for pg diluent
:beer-toast: ;cheers;
Yuck, that is very smart, not to mention cool. But. Don't get hung up on the numbers. Especially, mixing singles. When you mix a single, start with 18 to 22% on your flavor concentrate. You may find your pg neg. problem goes away. The only time you want to start with a lower % is if the concentrate is a super concentrate. Then you will start down around 5%.
Try this: Make a 1 ml test batch of:
13 drops PG = .65ml PG
6 drops VG = .3ml VG
1 drop flavor concentrate = 0.05ml
That gives you a 5% flavor profile. For a 10%, add 2 drops of concentrate, etc.. For each added drop of flavor concentrate, eliminate 1 drop of the PG (unless you are buying 100% VG based concentrates. Then you would eliminate a drop of VG.). 3 drops = 15%, 4 drops = 20%, etc. What you have just mixed is a 70/30 test mix.
This also makes it easier to see why the negative PG message. (i.e., At 50/50 the it would be 9 drops Pg
10 drops VG
Add 1 drop of flavor to this flavor concentrate with a VG component and your PG drops below 10 and you get the Negative PG message. I am not absolutely certain. but I believe that concentrates are made in a base that contains "some" VG. You can lie to the calculator and the message won't come up. On each flavor line you use, check the 100% PG box between the flavor name and the % box. Now you don't get the message, but you really are not 50/50 either.
Hope this helps. Eric
OK I still do not understand why the calculator gives a neg number for pg, when you put that your nic base is 100% VG, your target blend id 100 VG and the flavoring has no pg.
Your up Dave. Be gentle.
Search for Flavoring
Looking for a recipe to support your flavors on hand?
Use this: Harddisk Search and Stats Freeware software to find it. http://www.harddisksearch.com/ (http://www.harddisksearch.com/)
This program does not need to be installed. Just extract the file contents into a new folder and create a shortcut to the file HDSearchAndStats.exe
(https://breaktru.com/ejuice/images/recipe_search3.jpg)
Type each flavor on a new line and HDsearch&Stats will search inside the recipe files for your search word or words.

This program is the bomb. It is easy to understand and work with. My problem is not with the calculator at all but lack of experience. Even working with single flavors they taste rather bland and lack sweetness. So I add more flavoring and sweetener, then more and then more. Before long what I am vapping is not even close to the recipe I started with. As of yet I have not made a single brew that was right from the get go. I have adjusted 10 to 15 times some times before I get something I like. I am using only fruit flavors thus far and that is okay because that is what I like but I like them real fruity and rather sweet and seems to be a problem . Any ideas?...............Bruce
love this calculator, maby i'm paranoid but has any one found any information on weather these flavorings are safe for our lungs. as in our stomachs have hydrochloric acid but our lungs do not. i would love to do flavorings but are they safe for our lungs.
If you buy flavors concentrates made in the USA, Europe, and from only DeKange or Hugan (I know, I spelled them wrong. Will correct the spelling in a follow-up post unless someone else put in the correct spelling) in China, you are good unless they are oil based. DO NOT buy oil based flavors/extracts. Lor Ann use to have oil based flavors, but I read, just yesterday, they longer offer any oil based concentrates for vaping. Same article mentioned FlavorArt as offering one or two oil based concentrates, but clearly mark them not for vaping. VZ's super concentrates are all acceptable as far as I have been able to determine. Bottom line: Stay away from Chinese juices and oil based concentrates and you'll be OK.
thank you very much for the quick response, but i was actually searching for some links to tests done showing that these food flavorings are harmless to the lungs. i don't think they exist but I'll keep searching.
Hi
So what I am hearing you say is that I cannot use this calculator with a premix base/nic, unless there is some formula that I can use to simulate the PG/VG numbers the recipe calc is looking for, in order to come out 0% for both? Is that correct? The base I am using is supposed just need flavoring to vape it. I am just needing a calculator to give me the amounts of each flavor to produce the recipe. Am I right or am I still missing something.
If I was using a nic concentrate, with PG and VG as separate ingredients, the calc would work as designed. But with a base that is customized with the target VG/PG and nicotine levels already in the base, the calculator cannot determine just the flavor levels needed? Or did it anyway?
Can I just take the calculated Nic, PG & VG and add them together and assume that is the amount of pre-mix base to use, along with the flavor results as shown in the calculation? It comes out to 80% and the flavors add the other 20%?
Thanks
Doug
Hi All,
just looking for confirmation i have done this right before i poison myself :)
i am getting a message about negative VG.
i am using 72mg nicotine in VG
flavouring in PG.
i'm trying to make 10ml, 24mg strength as a tester with a target ratio of 70pg/30vg. this is where i get the negative vg warning.
i have adjusted the target ratio to 65pg/35vg and this will shows % fine but the vg looks a little low.
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
I am new at this, what I did was made my base with the pg, vg and flavoring. now what I need to know is how much nicotine do I add without losing the flavor.
w00tie,
The grams weight are set by going to the menu "Tools", "Set Grams".
Grams are calculated by the ml result times the Set Grams entry.
If you used 1.01 for your grams entry then 10 ml would be 10.1gr. (10 x 1.01 = 10.1)
Hi, i have version 15.4.3.0 on Windows 7 and i have issue printing Image since i updated to this version (Grams Tab).
Part of the page is missing.
Please advise.
Thank you.
Oh, any way to remove "grams tab"?
This calculator is more complicated (and confusing) than necessary - this is a shame seeing this is the most popular e-juice calc out there.
The calculator assumes that everyone uses one "Nic Base" and then a separate PG and one VG base. But this is an old-fashioned way to mix and I believe many more people today mix with pre-made bases, like I do with one 50/50 with NIC and then one 50/50 with 0 NIC.
(In fact I dont see any point whatsoever to have three bases, one NIC base and one VG and one PG? I would always mix with two, one with a certain percentage of NIC and the other 0).
So, out of the box the calculator shows me values for "Nicotine Ejuice" and then PG and VG separate and only with a trick/workaround you can use it to work with TWO bases: When you set PG both on the left, to 100% (Nic strength and Target PG).
It would be VERY simple since you only need to add maybe one line showing the total of PG/VG, rather than showing two individual values for PG and VG. (The people who mix with one NIC base and one Zero base will be confused since "PG" and "VG" doesn't mean anything for them respective it is not relevant, since we dont mix any PG and VG.)
In fact In consider how it is right now almost a little "dangerous" since we're dealing with Nicotine here which is hazardous and there is no need to make things more complicated than it need be!
The above with a line showing a total for 0mg base (and possible alternative labels for "PG" and "VG" under a new, more clearer name like "0 Nic base" instead) could also be realized if your calc just had a check box where people could specify at the beginning whether they actually use a "nic base" and a PG base AND a VG base to mix...or simply (how I think most do) with TWO bases. And to be honest, I would actually set a mixing method "two pre-mixed bases" as default. (And then show PG and VG mix percentages of course only to those who actually mix PG and VG, otherwise simply the total for 0mg NIC base).
I am just writing this since I consider the workaround with setting PG to 100% (to get ONE value rather than two separate) not really a solution.
Otherwise your calc is great, I just don't understand why it doesn't support mixing with two bases.
Some other things. NOT to be picky, just constructive :)
* Pressing "Calculate" to calculate.... WHY? Can it be updated in real time? This SCREAMS for mistakes when people forget to press the button.
* "grams" are always at 0. (Doesn't matter for me but is just odd it doesn't show any values)
* "Ratio you want your recipe to be" <---- Nice to have maybe as an "advanced option" but entirely unnecessary and also confusing for "simple" mixing. Again something which makes things more complicated than they SHOULD be
When I mix a 50/50 (or whatever percentage) NIC base and my 50/50 (or whatever) ZERO base I am not interested in "what I want it to be" respective it's entirely pointless. This value is already predetermined, juice will be the percentage of the two bases (in this case 50% PG and 50% VG) and then with the dilution when you maybe add water (vodka etc) and then the flavor. It will likely end up something like 47/47...but this is nothing I have control over (with just two bases) nor am I really interested in this value. (Eg. I cannot specify "I want it to be" 70% PG if I only use two bases with 50/50.) See above, this "what I want it to be" should be an option for those who mix with NIC, PG and VG and it shouldn't even come up as default option someone needs to set to use the calc. The result is entirely needless problems with seeing error messages and running into negative values etc...for something many people don't even need!
hi ive been using this app for a few weeks now and i love it definatlly the best out there but i have just started mixing by weight and each time i have to manually put the seperate measurments in to get the gram readings up on the calculator is there any way to stop this happening ie save them so it does this for me many thanks matt
I would like to know why is it that when I make a batch of ejuice I notice that it does not fill up the bottle size I'm using whether it's 15 or 30 ml correctly? I notice that it is always short of the capacity of the bottle being used.
Hi, first of great piece of software, have used it for a few years now and still my prefered calculator, but have a couple of problems.
Have set the grams and saved as default but when I open one of the preinstalled rec files it reads 0 grams. How do you set it to automatically display the preset weight when opening these files.
Another problem I have is regarding the set nic weight, I use mainly pg nic but occassionaly use vg nic for high vg mixes and quite often forget to adjust the nic weight. Is it possible to add another field to accomadate the two bases.
Also would it also be possible to set the calculator to show a bulk mix for just a flavour base to be mixed with pg/vg/nic at a latter stage, (if you see what I mean). At the mo have been exporting to another calculator to get the one shot mixes, would be nice to have everything in one place
Thanks
Hi,
I have a question.
I can print my recipe but without the "Comments/Notes" I have added !!!!
The only way I can print the "Comments/Notes", is "Print Image", but gives me the whole screen shot ............
Have I got something wrong??
Wondering how to back-up eJuice me up?? Thanx!
How does this work with Nic Salt? As nicotine strength is typically 25mg 35mg 50mg, does it matter or would you input this in the same way as calculating freebase which the software assumes?
