Hi Dave first post on here. Just read through this thread and well impressed. Been following your builds for a while, mainly the DNA12 and DNA20 learnt so much from you.

Does this count as a copper mod?

Called it the VNA20 XL.....

Hi all,

This mod came about because of a topic I read on e-cigarette forum while doing some research on the DNA20. The topic was by turbocad6, he’s like Breaktru puts his ideas out there and shares the knowledge. He failed (gave up really) trying to fit a DNA20 in a Vmod XL, but I thought his ideas were good and so the quest began. Must mention jav (Dave) from UK Vapers who kindly donated the Vmod XL for nothing to aide my cause.

It uses two lengths of 22mm copper pipe soldered together with a compartment made at the bottom to house the DNA20. The bottom compartment is sealed from above to avoid juice getting to the board.

18650 Battery, 9ml juice bottle. The case is a PITA to get off because of the two small steel switches, they both have to be held in while pulling the cover off. Cant think of everything!!

Looks like a lot of work went into it.  Ingenious construction.  It's a very interesting looking mod.  Great job!  ;cheers;

Thanks again Kortt, the design lends itself to lots of different ideas that's why I posted.

Leave the bottle out put in 2 x 18650's. Been looking at Breaktru's copper mod for ideas, maybe mate them and see what mutant mod appears.

Only looking forward to Christmas because I've got a break and can tinker.

That is some fine handy work. It takes a lot of skill to cut and fit precisely like you did Tony  :rockin smiley:

Cheers Mandro, high praise after seeing what you got in such a small footprint.

Still trying to work out how I'm going to get 2x18650 into a bottom feeder. There's so much skill and inspiration on this forum, wish I had found it months ago.

This is simply awesome.  I've always thought the VmodXL had a great look, and with a DNA20 in it, how can you lose?  Damn fine job!

Thank you all for your kind words. I did spend some time on this one mainly on the design.

Using what I learnt now trying to make one with 2x18650 similar design just not bottom fed.

Merry Christmas to you all and all the modding best for the new year.  ;cheers;

Very nice Job Tony, a wolf in sheep's clothing, as has been said it takes a lot of work and patience to get things to slot together like that, so much "wasted" space in many VW/VV mods, but you realise why it's there when you try to cram everything into a more compact design. Good on you mate, look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thanks studiovape, nice to hear from people that have been through the pain. This modding is so much fun but there are times when you think what the fcuk have I got myself into. raged:

Do Like your box mod and love that wood, plus bottom feed as well.  :thumbsup:

Since making my bottom feeder I fell in love with that method of vaping and now all my designs are going that way, even though it does create its own set of problems.
