They're getting better and better it seems. The size isn't all that bad, the DNA20/30 is 34mm x 16.5 mm, I imagine this is possibly a clone of it.

I particularly lke that the screen shows the battery voltage (i assume that's what VB on top left means) though it could do without "Seneca" over the wattage.

ah ok, I was confused and thought it was 32 wide.  Did some diging around .  The model is SENECA SNC-30W and from what I can find it's like 60 USD.  I might be wrong in my conversion.

my chinese is a bit rusty ;)
the board looks interesting enough, but I would expect anyone trying to go head to head with the dna30 to be significantly cheaper ...

I found out about this board because it was posted in a comment on my YouTube DNA 30 video but it was immediately taken down by YouTube.
The site the comment linked to was in English. It had a shopping cart and the price of the Seneca 30W was listed as $49.95. I went through the buy steps just to see it was legit but I never saw the "SECURE" https during my buy. I wasn't really going to finish the buy process.
I checked the site today and it has disappeared. Probably some scam shit.

A plus for the Seneca is that the display is mounted without that fragile ribbon cable and it displays amperage.
Now if it were 20 bucks, I might consider it.

Ya, thats probably a scam I find their boards are usually under 25 bucks

Like the brand new Vamo v5 is only 12 bucks I cannot imagine they would hack up prices that much
I still have not found a sx220 for sale yet
I figure it will be under 25 as well soon
Nice find Break

looks like a DNA 30 combined with a nivel due to the single button operation.  Is the screen already attached to the chip on the back side unlike the DNA 30's thin ribbon.  That think can be a pita sometimes.  Looks interesting.  Only time will tell if it actually works.

It they're resorting to spam, what does that tell you about this controller board, is it a scam and a rip-off?  A seller of a product like this would not need to resort to spam for advertising, the product would sell itself.

You guys have not observed Chinese methods if that surprises ya..

They have no shame and its been very effective since they started fashion cloning in the 80's.

Interesting, it appears to use the same DNA display.  Curious to see what comes of this.  I've got only minor complaints with a DNA 20/30 board, I just wish we had the option to turn the display off/5 sec shutoff/10/20/30/etc.  Plus, I'd like to see a resistance checker without actually firing the coil.  Other than that, I'm happy to pay Brandon/Evolv for their product.  But, clones will come, China must realize the potential in the e-cig market, and will act accordingly.

I'm going to order a couple and do a comparative test with the DNA30D as reference (I doubt that the Korean Seneca will hold up).

I've been holding off posting the results of the Seneca 30W test results.
As you can see from the chart, the results were extremely POOR and inaccurate. I would NOT recommend this board  :thumbsdwn2:

Tested results using two Panasonic CGR18650CH 10A High Drain batteries in parallel. I later used two Sony 30A batteries but the results were basically the same  :thumbsdwn2:

I would NOT recommend this board  :thumbsdwn2:

If they're using 24 gauge wires on the input, that tells you something right there.  I figured right off the whole thing was a scam.  Like I said, anybody that has to resort to spam tactics to advertise is probably pulling a scam.  A legitimate product like this would sell itself, you wouldn't have to spam it.

I wouldn't call it a scam, the boards are real....but the claims supporting them are clearly being falsified.

I wanna thank Dave for keeping the results quiet until we knew for sure.

I located the "claimed" manufacturer of these controllers and had 2 sent to Dave and 2 sent to another beta-tester.

Both reports were pretty much the same results.

The company that 'claims' they're making them is called Nerotech, but it is my belief that this company is nothing more than a shill trading office. Their address is located in a distribution complex and not an industrial manufacturing complex.

I also don't believe their claims of being the manufacturer or the firmware engineer, nor do I believe that these boards are of Korean origin.

I do believe that they're Chinese made.

Personally I wouldn't buy it but free is free. It is far from being a DNA 30W.

I have read your test results on the board. Too bad it didn't perform as good as the DNA. Anyway, FREE is always good

Yes, definitely like those little boxes.  When I'm out and about I can get by on the 1400mAh cells I use in my little boxes.  That one's 1200mAh, yeah?  At home I use a bigger box with a couple 18650's.  I can kill batteries fast when chain vaping in front of the computer.  I don't vape nearly as much when I'm running around.  1200mAh would cover it no problem.

This Seneca 30W is a complete failure.  :thumbsdwn2:
I have to run my wattage higher than I would using a DNA.
After the battery goes down to 3.7V, vaper production drops.

Over night my battery drains down to almost ZERO. I though I had a bad battery so I replaced it and the same thing happened.
This happened 3 times in a row already.

UPDATE:
I put an amp meter on the battery and found the board was drawing 160ma w/ the display on and 110ma idle.

I swapped boards and the new board is only drawing 48ma w/ display on and 1ma idle.

I'll run it thru some vape time and over night idle time and post the results.

Yeah that's pretty awful.  My own boards draw 12 uA when idle.  Anything over a milli-amp is going to be a problem.  The active draw can be pretty high since it's intermittent, but still it can noticeably impact run times if it's too high.  My boards draw about 25mA when active.

Sounds like that make has some major quality issues.

Yeah berger as your test results show, this board is surely not a DNA like board. False claims and a costly fake.

BTW:
I let the replaced board sit over night at 3.8V for 11 hours and the battery voltage remained at 3.8V
