So I Built Myself a new Mod.........
« on: October 11, 2014, 02:25:13 AM »
After habitually cruising around on the Breaktru forum I kept seeing so many great ideas and so many cool mods. I have built myself upwards of a dozen mods. Some Ti PtR08100, many OkRt10s and I kept hearing about the Raptors from GE. So I built another mod. This one uses the Raptor 10ampere board. I choose a rather compact twin 18650 USB Power bank too use as my body. The unit measures 100mm tall by 45mm wide by 22mm deep. I also found out that the Molex Micro-fit 3.0 connector makes for a beautiful recepicle to plug the Raptor board into. I have 16g power/ground/outputs mated to this connector with 22g for the pot/trigger inputs. This is the first mod I have built that includes reverse battery protection with led indicator for reverse(thanks Mamu & Break). I have been using PTC fuses for a few years in my builds(thanks Craig). I do use the low current trigger input, With an led lighted clicky switch but my master kill switch is rated for more than my batteries could ever output. I have the master switch opening my ground directly off the battery pack negative connection.  There is no room on this build for a meter(or most of my other builds...), which I personally am fine with. I also counter sunk the Fat daddy 12mm "510 repair" connector into the top for a cleaner look than had It been left sitting high and proud on the top. This is one of my most comfortable mods to use and to have in my pocket. I am also building an all black version of this same housing without the led button........ You know, for stealth..lol.

Thank you  all for] the great words of encouragement. I forgot to put up a pic of the innards, specifically the Microfit connector that plugs onto the Raptor pins. I guess that is what happens when you create a post at 2:30am.......

Here is to all you folks, hoping everything fits where you wanted it to and works exactly as you hoped..... Thank you for all your hard found information and advice.

I really like the enclosure

Thank You Sir. I was searching for an aluminum enclosure to build a mod with. It took me forever to decide on this case. I choose this over a similar sized enclosure due to the 18650 sized "double barrel" type machining in the lower portion of the enclosure. The other similar size had card guides which I didn't particularly want to have to deal with all that hollow space that could allow the batteries to rattle around in there.

As soon as I have the black version ready I plan on getting some pics of that up as well.
