Originally, I was going to R+D this myself, but due to complications with my wife and her high risk pregnancy and now some personal medical issues of my own(my cancer has resurfaced) , my hobby time has really been put at risk. I'm not sure I'll even be able to do my real job of building custom gaming rigs, but they are both things I Want to do to keep my mind off things and there's one thing I really want to be able to make and incorporate in all my builds.
I know some of you hve heard me mention the mod meter www.modmeter.com and it's a great product but it has severe limitations one, it's rated only up to 9v and worst of all it can't be used with an nfet without being powered independently which means it's battery level readings won't reflect the main power supply thus requiring a separate way to indicate battery level.
My challenge....err request.....err plea
I have some arduino programming skills and I wanted to figure it out on my own but I come on bended knee. I have an arduino pro mini and a few displays on order.
What I'm asking , would someone be willing to provide a step by step tutorial for making an arduino pro mini setup to display ohms volts watts battery level as well as a 2 button control digipot (+/-) that could be incorporated in anything from okrs and raptors to pwm builds. I know this is a lot to ask but I'd be willing to compensate your time.

Not a full tutorial I'm afraid but some simple pointers.

The Arduino pro-mini is an excellent choice I used it for the basis of this VW PWM board:

I've dropped temp control for now. I might revisit it later though. Current screen layout with ohms display set to 'maximum fuzziness'

I used U8Glib for the display https://code.google.com/p/u8glib/ which is fast and has loads of fonts and useful functions.

To read voltage and current you'll need to nominate two of the analog pins, they read from 0-5V in giving you a value of between 0 and 1023 corresponding to the voltage at the pin.
Use a voltage divider to get the battery voltage. Pick high value precision resistors so you get 0 to just under 5V at the junction.
Use a shunt and precision opamp to measure the voltage across the shunt to give you the current. The amount you amplify the voltage across the shunt will give you your current measuring limit. I'm using a .5mOhm shunt and ~70x amplification as I need to measure very high instantaneous currents for the PWM and power limit I impose. I lose a little resolution because of this but can still measure resistance down to thousandths of an ohm if I want to. A value of 1023 read from the amps ADC triggers the short alert screen and stops firing.

For the digipot your best bet is to get a dual pot chip. I wrote a small C program to work out the voltage I'd get from a raptor for every combination of resistance from the digipot, then another to output a table of values I could lookup to set the voltage in .1V increments. I'm afraid I've lost the code

Have you tried cannabis oil?
I know of many cases where it wiped every bit of cancer out. Its worth a try and it doesn't make you high but IMO thats the best part of medicating with it .

I am on a group on FB that does mcu mods with arduino and other chipsets. Some are now taking on re-making a dna200 they have re-made a dna20/30 using the same chips.. Quite a few other vape related projects like a cloud measuring competition meter with arduino etc . It is a closed group so you gotta join to have access..

Thanks for the words of concern and support. I am a huge proponent of the legalization of marijuana. I've been a solid NORML Supporter since 1998 but alas I live in Alabama and although I was unofficially adviced to seat out treatment with cannabis, a recent legal situation, I take biweekly urinalysis . How I can be charged and bound to grand jury for being caught with a weekly pill planner of my own medicine and then providing all current prescription information from the prescribing doctors at my preliminary, yet the backwater judge still wants to take it to trial . My case is rock solid. The arresting officer perjured himself when he stated I admitted to illegally purchasing the medication, when in fact the motion of discovery audio logs transcript clearly states I repeated , " I will not speak without my lawyer present" 19 times. The officer is a rookie with less than a y.ear and I'll have his badge adorning my mantle after I win the case and file a civil suit.

Thankfully we're finalizing our legal process here in Chicago but it's taking forever..

Alabama will pass it eventually.. Chicago took forever but it finally passed 2yrs ago and is in the final stages but they aren't honoring prescriptions -- only like 1k of over 50k have been issued cards and us others rejected so far/ 100.00 non refundable. They will eventually honor the prescriptions I suspect but now we're shooting for legalization of it which I suspect may beat the 1st street sale of medical..

Too bad you cannot move states and got caught. They let you go here if your nice for having less than 14g if you have no records or they may pour it out. If you say I need to speak to my lawyer or lie to them they go all the way with it. I laugh at sites telling people to not answer a policeman's questions. If clean and in the right of way sure but if illegal it sometimes works wonders man to man/woman. The truth is refreshing and all my cop buddies ride by that code.. They know it can wreck a person's life so they move wise about with it as almost all of them have inhaled at one time or another in their lives

See I normally do answer questions but he was being aggressive with his questioning and law enforcement here is devious and since the prescription medication was mine and I had no way at the moment to prove it, my only option was toaster up to avoid a misconstrued statement, which still happened. I had nothing illegal, no marijuana except in my system and honestly the cop should have seen my pill planner and luggage and known I was going on vacation but I drive a brand new car that's been tuned a bit (2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Ultimate Edition, running a GReddy t4Oe 58mm turbo with a tuned HKS bov. Injen piping and intercooler, Borla dual 2.5" pipes with 3.5" tips no cat brembo big brakes and 5zigen 20" wheels on yoko avids.... Damn I love to ramble about my car sorry...it's 508bhp at 10lbs boost. But it's not all Gaudy it's dark pewter everything blacked out, even the exhaust cans are matte black. Anyways the first thing the cop said was nice ride, I bet it a hard to spot at night when your running dope. He had no reason to say that, I was sober .... He was just a backwoods jackass.... And I have no issue with most cops.... Long story short even my lawyer said I was railroaded bc I have money and my family name is well known in town. I'm not worried about the case, after I got to watch the discovery video and audio from the police cam and belt Mic, he will most likely lose his job . The ADA is trying to have the case thrown out.

Sorry for being soo off topic, I applied for that FB Group. I'd love to hell develop an open source ardy display and digital pot that could be used to control and display any regulators and boost circuits and pwm with a more user friendly push button interface. It would be really sick to use this 1.8" reactive touch screen but that's way out of my league atm...
But doesn't that sound like a useful mod component.. controlling a raptor or okr with buttons instead of a pot dial and having the info displayed..... I really thing something like that could really advance box nodding...
I just don't have the time for R &D right now but I'd be willing to help finance a prototype..

Your in luck someone just yesterday loaded a code and schematic for a 5 way rotary switch pwm for arduino its sweeeet. It will do what your batts can handle in load so it is beyond beefy..

Im a vette guy myself, driving one since 16, pops 69drop hand me down to new every few years. Vetteless now cause po but will have that C8... I ride bike and drive shoe these days

.. Believe me I have many stories about police interactions because of my cars. I are a nice guy many say, only one terrible out of many shakedowns but they left in a huff, my uncle was el heffe' of internal affairs they were dirt and I name dropped, they were planting shiz telling me I had drugs and a weapon, they knew I wasn't full of it str8 off, covered their badges etc.. Unc told me to use him if ever that and only once did I and it worked like charm; always had curious officers not dirty... Comedy and reading a persons mood helps a lot but when you get a str8 butthead there is none of that going on..

I ferget the south is a lil hinged in the police department and your funds are appreciated in all cases..

There's another reason why cops kinda hate me too.. up until 2011 I'd been untouchable. My yncle/godfather was head state supreme court justice. He told me if I ever got in trouble to call him or have the officer call him. A few would believe me, call him and then appologize profusely and offer to escort me home. The ones that took me to booking where he was my phone call would get chewed out and desk duty ... I'm not proud of it bc I was a hellion but I should have 13 duis and a handful of possession charges..and an untold number of street racing issues ... Sadly he passed away in 2011. Thankfully my life was much more mild now lol.

I've been making a mcu mod forever now, I'll get around to it and that 200 watt dna remake I definitely would may try.. Thats uber pimp mod if successful in remaking..
