lookin for a small switch, 1/2inch copper tube mod.
« on: October 25, 2011, 03:40:08 PM »
I need a switch for a 14500 copper tube mod. Been lookin everywhere and can't find anything with a decent amp rating that would fit. Anyone done a 1/2inch copper mod in the past and have a recommendation by chance?

This 3 amp C&K will fit (8552MZQE2)
Just tried it in a 1/2" copper tube. You will have to bend back the solder tabs and the threaded bushing must completely stick out of the tube.

I've got a few of these on hand:

http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=8YYpzd7qSxKBGzveI%252bLhEA%3D%3D

These have a really nice "feel" to them that difficult to describe. The plunger is a soft "clicky" type and even though its rated at 1 amp, it should handle more without any issues.

I also have a few of these on hand:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=8552TZQE2

Got the optional black knurled dress nut for it too.

Send PM if interested....have 4 of these, price negotiable.  :yes"

8mm ?? That is the body length. The 8mm is inside the tube. The thread length is 6.35mm and a little more than half will protrude due the the inside curve of the tube. Approximately 3.5mm will protrude of the threaded bushing. The nut will cover a couple of threads. This is without the plunger length. The plunger is 3.81mm.

yeah, thats where I got 8, I didn't account for that much being covered by the tube. so it's around 7mm sticking out with the plunger included. not too bad I suppose.

Decided to scratch the 14500 mod and go with an 18350 stubby mod. it'll be a lil fatter but it'll be 'consistant' with my other mods and the tanks I make will look good and fit on the top. It'll be plenty short so pocket and stealth vape friendly :P

Thanks for the tips guys, I appreciate it!
