Looking good.  Gotta love a smaller enclosure.

Looks fantastic! This thread has been a great help for me planning and designing my first DNA12 mod... trying to make it as small as possible :)

Welcome to the forum thadass. What box will you be using for your DNA12 mod?

Welcome to the forum thadass. What box will you be using for your DNA12 mod?

An Altoids Smalls mint tin, which have a usable space of about ~50mm tall, ~35mm wide, and ~15.5mm thick. Volume wise it's about 30% smaller than the 9v madvapes box. No real reason other than enjoying the challenge of an unusual container, and I think it'd make a very portable stealthy VW experience. I have several test models set up in SketchUp but some of the margins for clearance are admittedly aggressive and improbable. As soon as I have selected some lipo batteries to test and have the dna 12 board as well and think I have something reasonable to work on, I'll probably start a thread for it :)

... the "in a perfect world" models.

I like the idea of getting them smaller and smaller.  The DNA12 is perfect for tiny mods I think.  I haven't tried a mod with a lipo yet.  I have a couple lip's sitting here waiting though.

Lipo's are great. Once you go LiPo, you'll never switch backo  :laughing2:

They are nice, they have much lower internal resistance than a round cell.  They fit nice in a box and the tabs are easy to solder.  The one down side is they don't have the highest energy density, it's actually somwhat lower than an IMR 18650.  So, you'd actually get better run time for the size with an 18650 tube.  Though the energy density is about the same compared to an IMR 18350 since for the round cells, energy density gets lower as the cell gets smaller.  The flat cells seem to maintain their energy density as they get smaller.
