reading voltage of a PWM circuit.
« on: January 18, 2013, 12:18:16 PM »
How does one read the voltage output of a pulsewidth modulated circuit? I would like to make all my box mods like this but I don't know how to add a voltage display.

It depends on what you're trying to do.  You're not being specific enough.  For a PWM output, RMS voltage is peak voltage times the square root of duty cycle.  So if you know duty cycle and peak voltage you can calculate RMS voltage.  If want to simply measure it, then you need an RMS voltmeter.  If you want it to fit in a mod, you'll need to build one with a mirco-controller and some coding.

didnt want to see the "c" word. I thought it would be simpler than that.
