Conductive glue???
« on: March 01, 2013, 12:03:07 PM »
This isn't really an actual modding question, but figured this would be the best place to ask.

Anyone know of a conductive glue?  The AUX port on the stereo in my car broke loose and there is no way for me to solder it.  I was thinking about mixing some graphite with Gorilla Glue to see if that'll do the trick.  Have seen that done for attaching wires to conductive silicone sheets that were made by mixing graphite in.  I've made the sheets before and they seem to have VERY little resistance, but I embedded the wires in the sheets themselves rather than gluing.

Thanks man. Gonna give the graphite/Gorilla Glue a shot since I have plenty laying around. If that doesn't work, I'll give one of those a pop.

I think I saw that same post if you need to revisit the info. I don't have the link saved on my tablet but just search for oo goo. That is the name of the sugru substitute he developed. He shows how to do it in an instructable. Oo goo 2 is a conductive version of the silicone sheet attached to the same instructable.  The instructable also shows how to mix the graphite & glue to make the conductive adhesive. Hope it works for you.
