How can they claim that this is a DNA20 mod. It's not a mod and it ain't no DNA.
What the hell is a gravity sensor and shaking control? Maybe it's for the space station. Since they landed a rover on the moon their gearing up to selling e-cigs to the astronauts.

It is....

Not exactly something very many "GUYS" want because of the gravity sensor and vibrator.

They have no shame in stealing anybody's trademark and they screwed up on the terminology, should say board, not mod.  I don't get it and the listing doesn't explain it.  Of what use could a gravity sensor be, to flip the screen maybe?  What kind of control would anyone ever want to accomplish by shaking the mod.  Sounds like a Wii controller through the TV screen situation to me.  In any case, worthless features for a board that probably won't deliver anything near advertised specs.  It looks like a PWM board which means it has nothing in common with a DNA20 except the stolen trademark.

I was wondering when the dna20 clones would start cropping up.  well, I guess it's a clone in name only in this case.

Gravity sensor for vaping in space....on the new space shuttle clone?

@Craig
They have no shame, they say, "you make it for us to make it.  lol
So the origin trademark or patent is their slave of sorts to pillage and as we know they do pillage everything.

Have you seen the new rolexes they ow swoop instead of tick makes it very hard to tell the original now .  lol
Sorta like their PWM and the DNA20 its almost a DNA20.  lol

Hehe, you might be able to fool someone with a watch, but it's another thing to do it to the people that buy these mods or parts for mods.  Does anyone still wear a watch?  I think my wife is the only one I know who still actually wears one.  That's what phones are for.  The Chinese are shameless about copying other products and even copying the trademark.  It's really despicable, but it's so extreme, it can be comical.

Seems to me I heard something about a co-op some place for a chinese knock off of a US made PV that isn't even in production yet. I guess once the original US model is release the chinese knock off co-op will start.  How sand is that.

So they're copying stuff that's not even in production yet?  Now that is laughable.  What, are they so lame they can't just be first to market?  They have to have an original to clone first?

When it comes to electronics they are hard to beat
Bootleg and prohibition specialist lol.  Its what they do..

Consumers win with low pricing and origin builders cuzz and fuss..
Then consumers cuzz and fuss about quality better or worse..  The Chinese made a better clone on 3 items I have, then OEM..

That may be, but...someone with knowledge of design and particularly PV and PV topper design who is doing the research and development first, doing the expensive prototyping etc, are the ones being ripped.  Even if they get patents and trademarks on their product it would cost them arms and legs to fight for their product identity.

Ok, I found where I heard about the co-op for clones.  My info was off on that.  It was Dimitri on Vape Team and he said it was a vendor running a pre-order on clones that were not in production yet that were based on a photo ...or something to that effect.

Some of this stuff the Chinese steal the original owner's/manufacturer's picture of the product, then they present it and advertise it as theirs, and as if it is already a finished product.  Then they wait and see on the interest of the product to determine if they are going to go ahead and produce it.

That's what they did with the Evolv DNA20D - it's not cloned yet, but the Chinese advertised it as already a done deal and already in one of their tube mods called the Amax.  They did it with my Lexi DNA20D, too, and are calling it the FZ20D mod.  Cracked me up cuz the picture they stole has my Bliss RBA and my drip tip on Lexi.  They stole my picture from ECF's modding forum.  They advertised it as already produced and ready to buy when it's not.

Here's the link - scroll down the page a bit and you'll see the Amax and the FZ20D mod advertised to buy - http://www.szvapetech.com/product/class/

souless bastids.

Wow, that is crazy.  Do you feel honoured?  (Don't answer that lol)

It's funny you posted this because in that Vape Team video I posted Dimitri says something about how they don't clone Mamu and Shan mods etc because they are too expensive.  I guess he was wrong.

LOL - honored?  It was more like freaky to see my picture of Lexi with my RBA and drip tip on their site.

Dimitri is right though, I don't see it happening to clone Lexi or any of my other mods.  Well, how I do the build anyway and especially since they've not cloned the DNA yet.

These Chinese sites that do this thing are just come ons to see if there is interest.  Some of the products' pictures they steal are anyway.

Congrats mamu for making the clone listings  :laughing2:

I say nuke the bastards. They are killing the world with unfair trade, hacking into companies and governments and poisoning us with their products. I boycott their shit when ever possible which is hard because of our government trade agreement. It's hard to find things that are made elsewhere.

It has become point to point sales, trade isn't managing agenda when the web opens outlets for consumers, like us modders who can easily hire and utilize Chinese shops because of costs.  I am Union and this bothers anyone who understands the consequence in volume as it has happened today before proper planning and strategy by our Gov's.  Locally charges xxxxx while same quality xxx by a foreign shop.

I use Chinese shops and Chinese products because of the huge disparity in cost.

The problem is they set the bar for everyone else.  The only way to compete is to take on their same practices which we (Americans) would never do because we have standards we're not willing to compromise.

It's also a matter of the Chinese government artificially deflating the value of their money to create an unfair advantage in the global marketplace.  They've been hugely successful at this and have commandeered much of the industry that was once domestic.  Corporate America is hugging them while they drive a knife into their backs.

It's really a bad situation that's sneaking up behind us.  They've pretty much extorted all of our tech and all of our industry which is a threat.  They live under a nasty communist government guilty of flagrant human rights violations.  A century ago, it would be cause for war, but we're more civilized now (or we just don't give a crap anymore).

Now, if I actually felt that strongly about it myself, I would heed my own words and not do business with the Chinese in any way shape or form.  But, that would be almost impossible with the present state of our economy.

They even have a a bottom feed enclosure and other enclosures as options

I was offered a sample....turned it down.

Ain't worth the freight charge.

This is NOT going to be a popular device until they redesign the menu control.

The gravity switch is just too inconvenient for most peeps.

65 buks in a sigelei mod says your wrong, and they took off the gravity sense.  You can turn it back on if you want it..

Fasttech will probably sell them even lower than 65 they have promised that when it comes out they will grab them up..

If its as good as a dna 20/30 its gonna be a "game changer," as was said.  The one thing, they have said this quite a few times, like the lambo 6.0, kamry,  etc. they were really short of the finish line when mod tested and reviewed with those mods..

Yea...read the fine print. (3-15W)

That's not a "game changer"....that's "2 years too late".

A $30 Vamo would be better.

Sigelei has a TERRIBLE reputation for building garbage and their QC is one of the worst in China.

Don't count on anything they release being remotely reliable or built right.

For modders thats awesome but we make up probably .5% if not less, of the vaping community.

If its as good as the dna's, and as a tube mod people will be happy im not mad at em lol...
I enjoy building my mods as hobby and I have loads to build as soon as all my parts come in.
But that price outstanding for a tube mod no if ands or butts, if all is well, then all is well..

After putting all the building work into a DIY mod I think that it deserves an original chip.

You guys readiing too much into this.  This is most people and it will never change if you vape this is how it goes because the savings n your pocket dictate this.

I personally have 6 mods and want many more they help and are also the hobby of almost everyone who vapes.

If it is as good as the review then its as good as the review lol..
Its not like Sigelei,  all of his mods are crap some are really good.  That company has over 100 mechs out there and a few VV units.

The reviews on the legend have it being a really good mod in 15w config so hopefully it is whatever helps the non smokers stay that way and provide a great vape that we know all about awesome in the diy realm..

It will probably be offered as a module mod as well the threading fits on almost all sigelei mods etc so all in all a great new mod on the scene.  If rumors are correct, at a later time   can be updated if preferred, to 30watts.

Half of the features on it are completely useless.

You have to fire the coil to read the ohms? (That's not good)

What, you gonna stand in your bathroom and stare into your mirror while you look to see how the power on your battery is dropping while you vape...or read the volts meter?

C'mon....how retarded is that?

The gravity switch is not gonna be popular....in the least. Get rid of that and you'll have a device that most vaper's would at least want to try.

If you're buying it cuz it hits 20 watts, then fine...you might like it?

But the reviewer is an amateur and didn't give a "real" review.

Better to watch a professional reviewer and get ALL of the facts....

Todd is a very easy read...you can tell when he really likes something and when he's just being "kind" for getting a free device. When he dis-likes a product, you can tell....and he definitely doesn't like it.

Then there's Phil's review, which pretty much says it all....

If you're outside in the sun....you're gonna HATE this device if you need to change the settings! (Must be parallel to the ground)

If you're driving...you can just forget that mess cuz you'll probably cause an accident.

Not a good device for most ADULTS anyways, sorry.

The reviewer in the vid I posted likes it a lot.  I think as well its really cool, everything about it.  I dpnt knpw pf many mods readable without shading in brite situations.  Sp you wanna change watts blindfolded click 5 times tip it and it gives vibratipn each watt up or down---thats freakin baller.  Btw you fore it in your hand watching v-drop.  Its really kewl mod IMO

You do realize that we are talking about the successor to the legend? For instance the tilt controls are disabled as far as I understand ...

Try again...

The only thing that they removed was the vibrator, the gravity switch is still there in version 2.

Nothing has significantly changed over the V1.

This is the only mod that must be parallel to the ground in order for you to change the settings, which means that your head MUST be down facing your feet in order to even do anything with the menu settings. Now add in the sun above and what do you have? BLINDNESS....you won't be able to see anything.

Driving? pffff....lest you wanna die?

Walking? pffff....lest you wanna run into to someone or something in your path?

This device would make texting seem safe for all uses.

And the vibrator option is now gone in version 2, so there goes your "change watts blindfolded".

Even at $50...is it worth it?

Not IMO.

Save your money and buy a device that you can use in every situation and not have to worry about causing a disaster or harming someone while using it.

I watched PBusardo's review on that mod.  It has nothing in common with a DNA20.  It's pretty much just a Vamo with some different features.

I think the "shake" control is pretty ridiculous really, seems cumbersome.  Why is that so much better than a couple buttons that anyone would even bother to design it.  The only thing that can be said about that is it's different, but not better.

Most mods use an OLED screen which is not sunlight readable so I don't understand why that's a complaint with this one.  Actually, I have yet to see any production mod with a FSTN display that ~is~ sunlight readable.  OLEDs look cool, but they have that down side to them.  Since e-cigs are often used outdoors I think a sunlight readable display is a valuable feature, but it's never an option.

I've watched a few reviews and it does look like it performs well but I have to agree that the shake control spoils it.
I can see that the designers have tried to make this a bit different but in doing so, they have made it unworkable for me. I use un plugged genises atty,s most of the time so I could imagine making a mess with all that shaking.

Yihi 'claims' it was for lack of space to add on additional menu buttons, but it's my belief that this controller was NOT designed or made by Yihi. Pretty obvious (IMO) that this board may have been originally designed for something sea-worthy or a control board for measuring gravity changes.

There's a very good chance that Yihi doesn't make any of the controllers that they distribute....they only make minor alterations to them making them suitable for the vaping manufacturers.

I don't really understand what you mean.  I've never heard of Yihi so I'm unaware of what they normally produce.

Looking at controller boards for e-cig mods in general, it's really a unique application that has to be designed from the ground up.  There's really no modules out there that could be used as a drop in replacement for an e-cig mod controller with only minor modification.

The chips used to measure acceleration are quite small and quite integrated so plopping one on a controller board is not going to consume any more space than a couple tactiles would, in fact, it would probably save space as the claim indicated.  Accelerometer chips use a serial interface which requires only a couple pins on the MCU, no more than a couple tactiles would.

It would be possible to design an integrated circuit to provide a single chip solution for a mod controller, but I'm not aware that any maker has done that.  It's expensive to design and produce a custom integrated circuit of the required complexity.  It takes big money for that.  It's done all the time, but in much bigger markets than those seen by anyone making controller boards for e-cig mods .  At this point, all e-cig controller boards are based on an assembly of standard off-the-shelf chips.

Well if anyone buys the chip on this board maybe can add tacts, making a mod is not unheard of to the mod specially  if its inexpensive enough..  Modding it could be a great new toy with vibro feedback I like that part..

All I know is they have a booster chip with a display screen doing 22 watts.   Its not a Evolv DNA but they say it is a DNA lol...
Quote
--DNA 20D Mod
--7W-22W Variable Wattage(Single battery instead of Two batteries )
--4V-8.5V Variable Voltage
--Sustain 1.0-3.5 ohm Atomizer
--Gravity Sensor and shaking control systerm(do not like shaking we can remove it and only keep Gravity Sensor, or remove both)
--0.66" OLED Screen

Module less than 20 bucks and I have to play with that board. They have another model (per Vapor Joes) out thats supposed to have tacts this is the Legend model of it.

Woot Friday  ;cheers;

YiHi is the distributor of all of these 33.3 controllers.

My contact there verified that the "DNA" board for the Legend was not originally designed for vaping but they won't disclose what it was actually designed for.

They made (and are continuing to make) modifications to the board that are more suitable for vaper's wants and needs, but according to them it's costly and difficult.

I did locate the manufacturer of all of these control boards about a year and a half ago and tried to buy directly from the maker, but I needed a Mandarin translator and negotiator. Found one, but the deal fell through and I didn't pursue anything further from there.

Chinese manufacturing is nothing like what it is anywhere else in the world.

They are masters at recycling, even though they cause most of the pollution to their water, land and air.

The Chinese can buy (or make) any product and redesign it to make hundreds of new applications....most of which are never used in the real world. They're notorious for building junk (built to break) and then redesigning it to make the junk more appealing.

Thanks, that makes sense.  I know the Chinese have a rather unique situation with the industrial culture there.  I didn't know it went to that deep of a level, but it's not surprising and certainly believable.
