If your building a DNA mod <click >

Read thru pages 8 and 9 on the ecf forum.

A great heads up about possible DNA failures and how to avoid them when building.

Argh, you made me go to ECF, hehe :)

Yeah, juice is a killer on electronics.  It shorts stuff out worse than water does.  On top of that, it eats away the copper on PCBs where it lacks solder mask (typically on the pads and vias).  For any mod with a circuit board, you have to be diligent about making your enclosure juice proof.

I also use a printed enclosure and I design them so they have a pretty good seal on them.  I use a conservative bead of silicone sealant on all the mating surfaces.  The connector is installed with a thin film of silicone sealant on the backing and the connectors are perfectly sealed internally.  The button through holes and screen are not perfectly waterproof, but the seal is pretty good.  The bottom of the box has a vent where the USB plug is, but that's not a problem unless the box ends up in the drink, no juice ever gets in through the bottom.

I've taken my more recently made boxes apart after months of use and they have yet to have any juice residue in them.  It took me some time to get there.  My first few boxes were not sealed well enough and I even lost one once due to circuit board vias eaten away by juice.

Sorry to tempt ya to ecf my name is visus.. :laughing2:

I thought it would be a good heads up for modders to build with that in mind.
It makes sense and probably a fault in many devices.

I have had a spill or two on the 08100 but its still going but for how long lol..

It would suck to make a mod for someone and have it go bad because of a little juice wicking thru the 510 into the wires, etc.

I do know the ejuice is uber thin; I drip on my shirt or pants/shorts it spots,  by later that day the spot is gone and its a shiny mark on my skin where the spot was.

15ft of travel and antifreeze is made of propylene glycol or ethylene, really good to know.
I used to get my engine steam cleaned every summer and it did one time run funny after so never again, maybe-- im kinda of ocd with my cars..
Meh

You can send me your mods that break so I can reverse engineer them and name it the powerbox.  Then with sales dominating markets take over the middle east and Asia via my own Island --its actually Canada but we now call it Ocula island..  Yeah gonna put jackhammers at the border and split off..   Who owns Alaska now haha...
