New User - First Box Mod Help
« on: June 24, 2014, 11:06:24 PM »
Hello everyone! I'm a new user and I came here looking for some help. My main forum has been ECF and I saw a post there saying this forum has a better modding forum and i after looking around I would have to agree. So i created an account. Anyway I am trying to build my 1st mod and need some advice.

My specs in mind are,

2 18650's in parallel
aluminum box
mechanical
able to handle at least 20 amps
side dommed button, not like the DNA's but bigger

I understand in thoery how to make this... but Im not sure what all i will need to make this mod and how to do it.

If someone could help me take my first steps into the world of modding I would be grateful  :thankyou:

Howdy singed,

Theres not many 20A switches that will fit your needs.
Using a mosfet you can use any switch you like with virtual no loss it will still will be a "mechanical"

Use the search type in mosfet and/or mechanical and there are plenty of diagrams or someone may load ya one in this post.

Heres a post to the most recent post I am aware of, read the whole post,  very informative..

A MOSFET is generally a superior option to a mechanical switch.  The tactiles you use to control them can wear out, but with careful selection, you can handle much bigger currents with no increase in electrical losses.
