I tend to agree about the metal. and I would love to find a lower profile metal, but those are 12mm switches, as big as you can go on a Hana box, and options are limited in ready made switches. But as soon as I get my machine shop up and running..........

That looks great, doobe.
Any part numbers or suppliers you can share? I found one switch on mouser that looked nice, but at forty bucks, it would have to do a LOT more than make and break an electrical signal!
Thanks,
Wayne

I got them direct from China. They were $1.52 each. + postage
I searched alibaba and decided to go with these people
http://www.cnvcb.com/
it went very smoothly with good communication.
Postage charges were quite high ($27) so it was only worth it to get a few (I got 40) I'm very pleased with the quality.
Here's another one mounted on my YiHi SX330 V3 S 150W mod
The power adjustment buttons are cut-down copper rivets

That's a sweet looking mod, doobe!
Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna go with something besides either of the two switches I posted. Neither "fit" with the box.

Cheers. It's one of my favourites. The stainless part was made up for me by another modder. I have a couple more waiting for special projects.

Just thought I'd add that the search terms that have worked for me on ebay/amazon/alibaba are '12mm vandal switch'.
There are loads out there, it just takes a little perseverance until you find the one you want.

Thanks, doobe.
I guess my eyes had glazed over from all the 16mm and up hits my previous 12mm search had rendered. I now have a couple of 5 packs on order.
I'll post more pics when they get here.

Well, I went with the “chromed wart” after all. I got in some switches that were less obtrusive on the outside, but it would have been chancing the FD floating center pin being pressed into the switch body due to the long inside dimension.
The other swaying factor is ergonomic. I had mounted one of the “wart” switches on the E-Holly box conversion, and found that my hand was quite happy with it. So screw what the eye says.
The cover is off ‘cause I was supposed to show Darthpistachio his cradle in use (sorry about that, mate), but trust me, it’s in there, it fit perfect, and it made for an easy install. I recommend it highly.
I know a lot of people despise hot glue, but I actually like it. Mainly because it’s easy to remove. A little rubbing alcohol and it releases clean.
Anyway, my DNA40 Hana clone is done, vapes great of course, but I haven’t tried a pure nickel build yet. I’m both looking forward to it and a little nervous at the same time. But the only way to get to the top of the learning curve is start climbing, right?

Very nice
Did you mill out the box yourself?

Thanks
No, I really just did an "assemble", not a build. The box is available from several sources, I got it from Fasttech. Theirs comes as a "kit", but I only used the box itself and a couple of the tactile switches for the up/down buttons. It's an authentic evolv DNA40, in a cradle by Darthpistachio, and a Keystone battery sled. I did drill and tap the body for mounting a Fat Daddy 510 connector (the kit comes with a press in, low quality unit). If your curious, just google "hana enclosure".

ETA: Oh yeah, and I converted the screw on cover to magnetic. I works so good I might have to add a slot so I can get the cover off easier!

Metal for sure. Looks nice and clean. Not to mention IMO a lower chance of a "pocket fire" if you're not using a master on/off switch.
