quick battery question...
« on: August 19, 2013, 02:48:25 PM »
Hi everyone. I was wondering if there was a battery about the same size as a 18350 that has a few more volts? That would give a little more punch to my mods.

thanks guys

try a lower ohm atty or carto for more "punch" ........assuming you are using a batt that is decent

Hi fsors, thanks for the quick response. I know about using lower ohms. But some of my tanks are not low ohms and I would like to use them. I have a Protank that doesn't work well with my mod because it's a higher ohm tank. It works great on my Vamo, but I have to turn up the volts. I have seen where people have talked about CR123A 4.2v batteries. Are those good to use? Also are they about the same size as a 350?

No, do not use CR123A batteries.  Those are not 4.2V they are 3.2V and they tend to explode.  I've heard at least three reports of those batteries putting people in the hospital when used in an e-cig mod.  People stack two of them for higher voltage and then the cells blow up in their face.

The highest voltage you can get out of a single cell is 3.7V from a Li-Ion cell (4.2 volts fully charged, 3.7V nominal).  If you want higher voltage you have to stack a couple 3.7V cells and use a regulator to drop the voltage to your preference.

If you want to improve performance with a single cell without using a regulator, lower atomizer resistance.

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. That's definitely out of the question. I REALLY appreciate your input on this. I don't want to do anything stupid or dangerous.
