Yeah, that ~is~ cheap. People have been using those and have been getting them off eBay, but at that price with free shipping it's like they're paying you to take them away. How do they do it, I can pay that much for a single component let alone a whole assembly.

Could you possibly reduce the charging amperage to do smaller lipo batteries. maybe get it down to 500MAH??

The 1A rate is fine for LiPos down to 1000mAh. For the high "C" ones (which is what you should use in a small LiPo), you can safely charge as high as 2C which gets you down to a 500mAh cell. Plus from what I've seen, that board doesn't actually hit a 1A rate, more like 800mA.
