Title: Vamo Board Question

I just ordered a couple Vamo v5 boards from Fasttech (http://www.fasttech.com/product/1652300 (http://www.fasttech.com/product/1652300)), and I'm in the planning phase for thier use.  I have a question (first of many, as most of you know): Has anybody completely removed the buttons from a Vamo board before routing their new ones?  It seems the standard practice is to just solder new button leads to the existing points, leaving the old buttons there, but it would make me feel better mounting the display if there was no chance of accidental activation.  The current buttons do not make me happy in form nor placement.

They look easy enough to use desoldering braid or even just snip them off.

Yes, you can completely remove the 3 tact switches on the VAMO board.
A touch of heat from a soldering iron tip and quick lift will remove them.

I'd upload a pic.. but this server doesn't like my server.. LOL

i snipped off the fire button with some nail clippers. the smaller ones u may need to desolder

I know this is a little old so I apologize. I know you can remove the buttons or just solder onto the existing connections. There is a diagram for the fire button but is there one for the other two buttons? I have a few of these boards and would love to mount the buttons in a different place. Also what type of switches would be recommended?

Will this work Breaktru? Also, is this sufficient to use on a mod with a mosfet?

Yup, it will work and also with a mosfet.
Just note that the one you linked to is a 300Gf actuation force. A bit stiff on actuation.
I like the 200Gf. The 100Gf are a bit lite. It's your choice.

I have looked on digikey and mouser and neither list the 200 in stock. Or maybe I missed something. I would prefer one of those so I can order everthing I want at one place. Is the 300 really way to much?

The 1N (100gF) and the 2N (200gF) have been all snatched up.

I have used all 3 and prefer the 2N. It's not that the 3N are terribly hard to press. After comparing, that is my choice.
