Title: need a lil clarification for 20a nano

Ok so i am building a 20a nano raptor mod and had a question about the diagram. Mamus diagram shows the unused and neg post of the POT being spliced together and ran to the Trim neg. Also shows that the #10 pin, which is the Trim- is grounded with all others at a common point. now my question is do i run the pot to the #10 pin then run a ground to the common point or could i just run the pot neg and #10 pin to ground point seperately? Sorry if this is a dumb question but i dont want to screw this up.
