Hey fellas,
I figured if any folks would know the answer to these questions s. You guys would.
First,
Anyone here familiar with 252 Box Mods. Google If you aren't..it a Facebook page. Anyways. He does spectacular custom finishes on his boxes and there are a few in particular they have some walking dead scenes on them and something dfrom Borderlands and they are amazing . I REALLY REALLY want to know how he did that..it's the bees knees...wow...
Any ideas?
2nd question.
I read in a custom box mods description(can't remember where..durrrhh) but they advertised a coating on the chip and circuits that waterproofed them but wasn't interfering thermally. Any suggestions?
Thanks again guys!

1 - looks like they could be toner transfers
2 - conformal coating

Hmm.
I know not what either of those are. Go Go Gadget Google.. lol
Thanks for the responses.. Do you not agree that is a pretty darn nice looking set of boxes 252 has there.
Im honestly surprised he isnt a common poster here.
Also any suggestions as to products for the Toner Transfer or the Conformal Coating would be great.
Is the coating worth using. are there any Pros and Cons.
Thanks again!

A conformal coating or "potting" can be helpful in making the board impervious to contamination, typically from e-juice but also any other liquid. The down side is potting compounds tend to be expensive and difficult to apply without a mold. The other thing is from a hobbyist level, it makes the board non-serviceable which means you have to build a new board if you want to repair it or modify it. Typically you would not pot a board unless you need vibration resistance which is not required for an e-cig mod. Using a sealed enclosure aside from some vents on the bottom for safety will make it resistant to juice contamination.

if you have an inkjet or laser printer you could use waterslide decal paper, or printable vinyl for the case.
