Up to 3 different items and 3 of each item:
http://www.nkkswitches.com/series.aspx?stid=3&id=5019
These are $6 each at Madvapes!

Got my switches a couple of days ago. Real quality parts. Thanks T for the heads up.
Those 3amp P.B. are great for a box mod. They were the smallest I could find but yet way to big for a tube mod.
Also got 2 kinds of slide switches that are perfect size replacement for the box mods and much more solid than the crap that comes with battery boxes or the crap that R.S. sells as 3a sw.
-
Alright, which model numbers did you sample order?
DETAILS!! :D
I really like these micro 6A MS illuminated slides, didn't see these the first time around. What did/do you think of these?
Was it the MS 6A H30 that you went with?
And which model number momentary switches did you get?
DETAILS!! :D
-
I got 2 styles of miniature Slide Switches.
Single Pole and Double Pole both 3 amps. CS12ANW03 and CS22BNW03
The P.B. switch is 3 amps, SB4011NOH-2A. It's a super nice switch, just too big for tube mods. It's referred to as a miniature.
Everything smaller in size that I looked at didn't have the amp ratings high enough.

(You might wanna PIN this posting, cuz it'll surely get lost in MOD posts.)
Its kinda funny, the two models you ordered were the ones I was gonna get myself, before Mouser replied.
However, I ordered a couple of the MS13LNW03F and a MS13LFW01C w/wiring harness & assembly....
As well as the others!
But from what I can tell, I'll need a resistor to protect the LED.
Am I correct?
If so, I'll need your help on the wiring schematic and what kind of resistor I'll need....if that's okay?
I like the LED in the switch cuz it tells me the position the switch is in and I can protect the momentary from firing accidentally, by turning it to off.
And I dunnow if you noticed, but the SB4011NOM-2A is shorter than the SB4011NOH-2A
I like the NOM better cuz its got an extra knurled nut and is just slightly shorter in height to that of the standard.
Anyway....can't wait to get mine!!

Got this email this morning
Thank you for your interest in NKK Switches!
NKK Switches has recently formed a partnership with our catalog distributor, Mouser Electronics, to fulfill our paid sample requests.
Mouser Electronics maintains a comprehensive inventory of our switch products so your order will ship very quickly.
A representative from Mouser Electronics will contact you shortly or you may contact Mouser directly at 800-346-6873 or http://www.mouser.com/ to purchase these parts.
Sounds like no more free lunch

Sounds like no more free lunch
Be patient Alan, a Mouser rep will contact you asking you to provide specific details about each product. (And if not soon, then just reply back to NKK and ask that someone from Mouser contact you ASAP.)
Be sure to read the PDF's closely so not to miss out on any little extras that are provided with certain models.
You can also split up the model numbers and try other versions/configurations of the same model.
This is what I ordered: (2) SB4011NOM-2A, (1) SB4011NOMC-2C, (3) CS12ANW03, (2) MS13LNW03F, (1) MS13LFW01C w/wiring harness & cable assembly.
The full PDF's are on NKK's site, here: http://www.nkkswitches.com/switch-pushbutton-online-catalog.aspx
Just click on which item you want.
And yes, they're still FREE SAMPLES!
-
My switches arrived in a relatively short time and no one contacted me.... Cool. Thanks again Times.
-
No sweat, D....You're not the only person that I've personally verified that has successfully received your switches! It does work....
-
I got this email after doing an NKK Sample request:
NKK has sent us your request. I am sorry but they are no longer supporting their sampling program. Mouser is a distributor for NKK and we sell in small quantities as well as large. All of the parts listed Mouser has in stock. See below for pricing. Please let me know if I can assist you further or if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend.
Thank you,

I got the same email. :'(
Did any one receive the samples?
-
Yes Tommy, see my posts above. :egyption:
Thank you Times for your link :rockin smiley:
-
Oops, didn't mean to duplicate a post, I didn't catch it the first time. Glad to see nothing's changed in the last week or so.
-
Yup, got the same email, guess I don't rate :censored:

:2cents:

Too bad I found this thread too late, I would have loved to get some sample from NKK. :crying:

Read deeper / more! It would appear you still can...
-
Ya know, its hard telling why some people are getting their freebies while others are not??? :wallbash:
Maybe Dave and the others are just stone cold lucky :censored:?
Mouser may have in fact caught on to the "onslaught" of applications, considering how many times this thread has been read since I posted it.
But I'll keep looking for more freebies and will post them upon confirmation. So check back often before the "onslaught" hits. :)!
Those of you still wanting the freebies from NKK may have to contact NKK directly and ask which distributor is now handling their samples program, if not Mouser. :rules2:
-
I ordered some of the tactile switches and got them in 3 days. Well, ordered them on Friday got them on Monday. Pretty cool for freebies! and the prices are even quite good I think. ($1.15 each) Only 6mm a switch. Going to try making a ultra tiny copper mod. Might end up something else, but that's the intent
-
Well at least we know that NKK isn't totally stingy!
Best wishes on your mod build, Sweet-Vapes! :rockin smiley:

Thanks to da man..... "T"

Well, I never got my switches from NKK, I wonder what's up with that. Maybe I should try again with only one variety of switch listed, instead of finding 3 (the max) to order. Those of you who did get your switches, what all did you order? Those of you who didn't, the same?
-
I think the real reason behind the mystery comes down to an important fact!
Dave's (Breaktru) e-mail address is a non-public address and is listed as a commercial business address.
So when you request samples of expensive components and leave a public-domain address, you get the BOOT!
But if you order something that costs them a few pennies (if that?) like 50mA tact switches, they'll send those.
So unless you wanna purchase a domain and sign-up for something like Google business apps and literally make up your own business e-mail address, you're gonna run into rejections like NKK's.
This is why Dave has the upper-hand.....and can get almost anything he wants!! :censored:
Big D prolly got $60 or more free high quality switches.....and the rest of us get LINT! :furious: :furious: :furious:
They are free though....for the "RIGHT" information they require.
But that's just my :2cents:
-
I have non-public email addresses as well as domain names, I hadn't thought of that being an issue, thanks for the idea...
-
I know most sample sites won't sent to yahoo, gmail, hotmail, live, and a few others. So if you can, you need to have an email address that is either ISP related, as stated, a non-public oriented one.
I used my website's email and got the switches in a couple of days. Same with TI parts
-
Now, TI parts, I had no issues with what so ever. I have so many email addresses, public and non, that it really wouldn't be an issue. I even still have my University/College email addresses, so that can also be useful.
I'll give it a shot again with a non-public address, thanks again for the idea...
-
Actually for NKK I used my verizon email but gave my Business Name as well.
Some sites do require a company domain email address which I mostly use.
-
I got some extra lint if ya need it "T"
-
Okay...who's :censored: do I need to kiss to get me some NKK's!!??
I only have public domain addresses.
Anybody wanna help out the poor man that found the freebies?
I only need (3) SB4011NOM-2A
More lint? Shame on you, D.....

Okay, you shamed me.
Being I only have 3, I can mail you 1.
Okay? I'll send it the cheapest way courtesy of Good Ole Dave.
Are we friends again T?
-
Looks like Times is mad at you breaktru, he's not responding...
-
:crying:
-
Nah, you're okay D....
Had to drop everything cuz my 6 month old Japanese tact switch finally gave out!
(You should add a gravestone smiley to the list D....)
It was on its last leg for about a month, and just as we're discussing switches, it died....dead as doornail!
:censored:
Had to change out the switch and fix my one and only mod!
BACK IN BUSINESS!! :rockin smiley:

I have actually ordered free samples from NKK now 3 times and got them each time. Not wanting to press my luck too much, but will be making another request as soon as I get some of the ones I have used up.
Ultra super thanks for this one too

-
i put an order in on December 30th received my 9 samples today directly from NKK not a distributor.
sb4011noh in three colors
i used gmail but my company name matched up with username which matched up with the market area they want know about
my name: bamsbbq
Title: owner
Market: Food & Beverage Equipment
Company: BamsBBQ
Application Description: food equipment use
Estimated Annual Usage: 1000
Nobody actually contacted me, i just got an email verifying that i requested samples and they arrived today January 6th.. i think if the basic information you provide matches, then they dont question it.
-
Nice goin' Bams! :applaude:
Thanks for publishing your success with details!
:beer-toast:
-
Just ordered some using my photography biz address. Lets see if they come.
-
They e mailed me back. Samples have shipped. WooHoo.
-
Got the SB4011NOH push button and MS12AFW01 slide switches today, after I finished the high voltage mod of course. These are very nice, heavy duty. The slide switch has large solder lugs but is small enough for a mod. The push button has a smaller diameter than the normal horn switch but looks a lot sturdier.
-
Congrats on getting the NKK's!!
You should have Dave move this thread into the NKK samples page so everyone there knows that you've received them.
:thankyou:
-
Hey, did they charge you anything for shipping?
-
Im asking since i saw some companies say they are 'free' but in the end they give you invocie for the shipping and handling costs that may be greater than the sample parts cost ._. thats why i ask before.

Free shipping
If I ever order samples from a site and they ask for a credit card, that's when I pull the plug...
-
Hm, when i try to post a sample request on NKK right now it says that i have to put a valid Shipping account :/

Don't remember but I guess you have to make an account so they know where to ship it to.
If for any reason they ask for payment info such as a C.C. then discontinue filling out the form.
I received 6 switches a year ago
-
nice! i think I need a couple of those...
however, i'm from the philippines, so i'm curious, do they ship here, and will it still be free, like what TI does?

I tried submitting a request, however, it asks for a shipping account number and I don't have one :(
-
Just tried without shipping account... we will see....
-
They sent me a sales quote from a local supplier... Dang.
-
Too bad. I've recieve several switches when Timesarerough first posted the link. Guess they stopped providing samples. :(

Got mine back then too. Bummer!
-
Bummer I was just about to try and get some more. The switches I got before are still working great in various mods.
-
Placed my order today. Used USPS First-Class and left shipping account # blank. Got a confirmation email, will edit/post back when they come in.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
