I have never built a vv mod before and I have no real background in electronics. I wanted to give it a try so I bought a cheap vv kit from madvapes http://www.madvapes.com/Variable-Voltage-Regulator-Board-Kit-Rev-2_p_2994.html (http://www.madvapes.com/Variable-Voltage-Regulator-Board-Kit-Rev-2_p_2994.html) . You guys are way more advanced then I, so I think you guys can help. This is my dilemma. The spec sheet http://www.madvapes.com/assets/images/NCP630-D.pdf (http://www.madvapes.com/assets/images/NCP630-D.pdf) and the picture http://learfx.com/images/rev2_drawing.jpg (http://learfx.com/images/rev2_drawing.jpg) are confusing to me. The chip I have is the P630AD2T

Aside from this I guess I really need to know placements of the resistors. I'm trying to gain more knowledge and understanding for future builds as well.
Another question: Can I relocate the 50 k pot farther away from the board without affecting the accuracy?

It's only rated for 5v and 2 amps. I want to use it as a pass through, no batteries. Hopefully you guys can help.

Your chip is the same. NCP630
Pin #1 is Shutdown or Control by MV
The arrow in your diagram is pointing to Pin #2 Voltage input from the Pos battery.
The diagram and schematic look the same less the caps.
If you wire it just as shown in the diagram from MV you should be good.
I don't see a problem moving the 50k pot a few inches.
The 2amps on the power transformer is kind of low if you push it with LR atties like Dual Coil 1.5 ohms.

Yes Lear, resistors are correct. R1 between 3 & 5 and R2 between 1 & 3

Thanks for the help Breaktru, I've looked around on the internet but can't pin this one down. I know by your copper VV battery mod that you ground strait to the copper body
( atty connector to the copper cap without running a wire to the "-" battery terminal ) I'm curious about doing this with a wall transformer, specifically the one I mentioned in my previous post. This would eliminate some wiring. I understand electricity will follow the path of least resistance and it will pass through the copper before my hand on the battery mods but grounding something from a 120 v wall outlet to the device makes me a little nervous.
I don't want to put you in a position of making a safety judgment for me, I'm just wondering if this type of electrical design would work and or is it a common practice in other types of applications. Copper tube mods connected to a wall outlet aren't really a typical application . Sorry for the noob questions, maybe someone else reading this would benefit from the information as well.

Your wall current should be isolated with the Step Down transformer/Full wave rectifier that is in the AC to DC power supply and safe.
