Title: How can I do this cutout in a copper mod?
Post by: jumper on October 04, 2013, 10:01:57 AM
On Lear's Scorpio mod, he has a volt meter built in. I would love to be able to do that, but there's something I need to know before I could start... How would you cut out the section of copper tube for the meter. The only thing I can come up with is to use a drill to try and cut it out. But there has to be another way. I would really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this subject. Note: I've included a close up of Lear's mod below.

Thanks guys...

Never mind... I figured it out after some Google searching...

edit: Guess I should share what I found. It's really simple, just use the cutting wheel that comes with your dremel tool. I would draw an outline using a sharpie first then use that as a guide for cutting.

I have also been looking to do something like this. After doing some research, I found this video and this supplier of these bits.

That's bizarre. Never seen a bit that drills square holes. Of course it's not something I could use because of my limited tools, but it was fun to watch.
