After shelling out 100k for the microscope just to take it out the package  I will order a sample

I've got some small power MOSFETs already in a package that's getting too small even for my 10x microscope.  Those would be out of the question, way too small to deal with by hand.  In any case, they call them power MOSFETs, but they're limited to pretty low power stuff really.

Hehe, looks like you're spending some time on the TI web site, it's like a kid in a candy store for me.  I can spend hours and hours there, really great company with a great web site and great products.
