Title: "You don't have permission to save to this location" Contact.....
Post by: Breaktru on September 20, 2010, 05:27:41 PM
If you are using Windows 7, 8 or Vista and receive this pop up window:
"You don't have permission to save to this location. Contact your Administrator".

If you get this message when trying to SAVE a recipe file that you created, you will need to run the program as an Administrator.

Work around:
Right Click the "eJuice Me Up" icon and then click "Properties",
Click on the "Compatibility" TAB and
check the box "Run this program as an Administrator".

Works for me.
Yes, the new windows 7 and Vista can be quite annoying with there permission warnings but a necessity in protection from unscrupulous software.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I downloaded this software TO my computer - the NEW way of being able to do it, then the computer automatically upgraded to Windows 8.1 (I don't know if this had anything to do with it or not, but . . . ) I LOST EVERY RECIPE I WORKED SOOOOOO HARD ON!!!
ANY possible way of getting ANY of them back???
I remember my 'all day vape' recipe, but that's IT! I'm really bummed out!!!!!!!!
I'm also having that SAME problem of this NOT allowing me to SAVE recipes in the recipe file. I'll go in and do what you said to do, but do we have to do that EVERY time we go to use the software???
If ANYONE can help, I'd LOVE it!!!!!
Thanks!!!  fainting:

Hi Laurie,

Not sure what your NEW way of being able to download is but running an automatic upgrade of Windows has nothing to do with eJuice Me Up.
I don't think you lost your recipes. The folder where they are is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Breaktru Software\eJuice Me Up
What probably happened is that you saved your last recipe in a different folder. By default Windows remembers where you last opened or saved a file so it's looking in that folder.
Open eJuice Me Up and go to "File", "Open" and navigate to the: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Breaktru Software\eJuice Me Up" folder. The next time you open the software it will remember that folder. This all has nothing to do with the way a program works. It's Windows.
As far as the Permission goes to save to the folder, follow the advise above in the first post.

Hi Breaktru,
I found my recipes!!! YEAH!!! Thank you for your help!
So, with the Windows Update to the 8.1 Version, it DID have everything to do with where I found the files! I finally found them in the File C:\Program Files under Owner, as you stated, but in the One Note Notebooks files!
I NEVER saved them there originally. I saved them to a folder I could only access when I had the program open, .rec, meaning I would have to click on the cherries and open the File tab first, which then opened .rec files, which is why I know for a fact I never saved them to One Note Notebooks.
I wonder if I never originally downloaded the program correctly from the beginning, then possibly when the computer updated, it opened the program 'correctly', the way it should have downloaded in the first place?
I really DO wonder if "I" goofed it up originally because I never could read the recipes that were in there well, either! Then once the computer updated, the program I had been using was just sitting there waiting to downloaded correctly??
I would NOT put that past ME! LOL!!!
Thank you SO much for having this program available to us DIY'ers!! I really appreciate your HARD work! This is the ONLY calculator I use! I LOVE it!!!
I will be donating $$ to you, but I have to wait now until after the holidays! LOL!!! The kids wiped me out, as kids usually do - no matter what their age!!
Thank you!!!

That's just crazy that windows 8.1 update moves files like that. I know that the .rec file extension is usually what some video software uses. Maybe it thought they were video files or something. But why did it move to Onenote? hmmmm.
I wonder what else it moves around?
I don't think your download and installation of EJMU was wrong.

What was the previous Windows version before upgrading to 8.1?
