Thats a nice protection circuit for apps below 6 amps on the output.  If it was a higher amp load fet we could eliminate wiring in mosfets and lift  pins and switch it using its pass thru feature.  Would save room and parts count..

I got 5 of these and with a battery sled, some 18 series battery heatshrink and a bit of polymorph have some 1 A travel charger for about £1.50 GBP.  You can also put a volt meter between 0 V and IC side of R3 and monitor the charge current in amps.

Visus, this is a little over my head. Do you have a charger you do recommend?

The tp4056 unit is a great charger and for the price it is hard to beat.  It is sold in many configurations..
If you want hobby into it,  the most awesome charger,  build Craigs charger,  it is really cool as you can set final resting charge so if you buy 4.35 batts you can charge e or lifespan your batts only charging to 4.1v etc etc...
If you need a smaller footprint Evolv's charger is very tiny 500mA charger.

Here's a tp4056 full review:

This is the charger controller I use;

It's a really good one.  There's one board I know of from Adafruit that uses that charger controller chip, but it's a bit pricey;
