Ive been lurking around here about a year and a half already and its time I gave back.
I have designed 7 different PCBs for PWM mods using cheap 555 timers and mostly surface mount components. (i chose to use a dip8 socket/timer for ease of replacement in the event of failure) The designs are based totally off Relayer1974 schematics found on Box Modders group on Facebook. ;cheers;
The first design, the mini is for series voltages 5-18V ONLY with standard 555 timers (check your timers datasheet of course) the going price is 80 cents shipped for 3. give one a shot.
The rest of the designs are compatible with ANY 555 timer we have tested on the circuit, input voltage will depend soley on your timer choice. CMOS or standard 555 are fine. The pfet buffers the timer to keep from blowing the CMOS timers or the others have been more stable at 14+ volts with low (.35ohm seemeed to be the sweet spot for random timer failures and/or blown vehicle fuses on 14.6v passthroughs) if you wannt read more youll have to join the group and read the files. theres pages of this stuff on there.

All designs are based off the same schematic and therefore have identical electrical connections despite different layouts, however fitment has only been tested on the 1590B v1.1-1.3 designs with a Vape3D triple 18650 sled fitment is wonderful
heres a look at a populated one. the 3mm led is used for PWM duty indication and the voltmeter is connected to the sled since we cant accurately read the voltage at the atty.

This was the BETA and the final board outline is slightly changed for even better fitment. i have a bunch coming and will post lots of pics. building two more with the BETA PCB today probably also. If anyone has questions about the PCBs or anything ask away.

idk how i forgot that lol you can order them unpopulated there, full parts lists in each description. any questions please ask. i make nothing off the boards at all, all open source. i may offer some populated in the future and i certainly sell mods with them now. oh and guys definitely feel free to use these in mods for sale. all i ask is that you leave my logo and website on them. i wil have most of the parts necessary to populate the boards available on my site as well and when i recieve my batch next week i will do some step by step instructions on how i build these and throw up my drill diagrams im using in case anyone wants those also. ill have more pics of fnished ones later i simply have too many customer orders right now to take the time to do a write up.

Well, a link to where these boards are available would be nice. Unpopulated - a parts list included? Populated?
I know several folks asking about such things.

What is the 8050? No matter whete i search if i add 8050 to any of the components i get no results... Am I missing something? Google doesn't even return anything for 8050 .01 caps. The only thing I've found sort of relevant is 8050 transistors -_-

I got my 1590G v1.1, Mini v1.2, dual parallel mosfet board by David4500 and a few vaping underground mosfet boards(took exactly two weeks)
I've just placed an enourmous order from Newark with 100 of every component for the mini and 1590G board, the only thing I'm not positive of is what connects to "power", " gate" and ground? Thanks for the great looking board. Once I get them together I'll probably post a video to YouTube to hopefully bring some more attention to PWM

Power is sled + ground is sled - and gate goes to your nfet gate

Could've guessed that. One thing I have no clue if though is the tiny hole that's unmarked next to power and the .1uf pads? Also do you connect the two legs of the pot together like with an okl build or not use the one thats not connected to a diode or? Sorry I have no expeirence with 555 timers and can't find any wiring diagrams for boxes. Thanks for the help!

So on the mini v1.2 board both diodes connect to the one "dio" hole and the wiper connects to the wiper hole without a diode? And nothing goes to the unmarked hole connected to the .01uf cap then?

Correct. If its a tiny hole that looks like a single strand of wire would fit its a via. That connects the top and bottom layer traces together.

Its not super small, about half the size of the pin holes, but there's a trace connecting it to the capacitor so I wasn't sure. Makes sense though

Update;
I have since received my Newark order(not bad shipping, components and shipping were far cheaper than digikey, and even though all I ordered were tiny components and a few OKLs it came in a huge box very well packed!) and straight away got to soldering. Finally after finishing the three mini boards I wired everything up and it worked once, then the wires got super hot and began smoking(uh oh, something shorted!) After assuming I fixed whatever it was I wired it back up and this time it worked fine but the 555 chip smoked while it was engaged and subsequently fried. Second attempt with a second board and everything is seeming to work perfectly after about 30+ puffs on it. Pretty stoked and I've still got two other variations to build :thumbsup:

How do you have the MOSFET wired?

Basically the same as an unregulated build except the "gate" wire from the PCB is wired to the momentary switch and the gate of the mosfet is connected to the other terminal of the switch. The rest is the same, drain to 510 negative and source to ground. Seems to be working very well now. Over all I'm blown away at the performance of a $2- PCB

Also I didn't use a pfet or anything, just the PCB and a positive channel mosfet. Wanted to keep it as simplistic as possible

Any trouble shooting tips for the board? I've bypassed it and everything works fine but somehow I've had 3 work perfectly then just stop. I tried every 555 I have left in each of them to no avail. The only thing that makes them work is by bridging the .1 cap with tweezers but it just fires and doesn't make the high freq noise nor does it allow adjustment when I do this. Its super annoyong as I promised a buddy at my vape shop one by tomorrow in turn for some juice but I don't want to give out a shit box.
Also there is no voltage to output on the 555. Well maybe like .3 volts. No clue scared:

Sounds like you're using a 200ohm pot... Whatbpit are you using?

Oh and the circuit is for a n-channel MOSFET, a pfet IS a positive MOSFET. So you did or did not use one?

Irlb3034pbf by international rectifier... I'm taking pictures of the onside of a mod. There's no way I'm taking a photo through heatshrink of the mosfet.

And another other one. Worked perfectly fine then goes to just acting like an unregulated mod. *#?@ these things.

Have you considered using a MOSFET driver chip instead of a PFET between the 555 and the MOSFET? There are even some with built in voltage boosters that will drive the MOSFET at a higher voltage even when running at lower voltages (keeping it cooler and lowering your high current losses).
