Title: Godzillamizer V3
Post by: asnider123 on August 21, 2011, 07:14:31 PM
Been waiting for weeks to get all the parts together to make another tank, this time based on Breaktru's Dual-Coil Tank design, but using an XL CE2 Clearo.

I started out with 3/4"  thick wall poly tubing, cut a 1.5" length. I then drilled several tiny holes in my Clearo, a half dozen toward the bottom and a couple about 1/2 way up (to avoid a vacuum).

Next I assembled the unit, using the 3/4" tubing, the CE2XL, and two Danco size 1/2 flat spigot washers. They measure 3/4" dia x 1/8" thick. I drilled out the center holes in the washers to tightly fit the CE2

You can fill the tank by sliding a tiny needle (22 ga I think) between the top seal and the poly tubing as shown

Here is the tank with 6ml of USA Mix (two syringes full, all I had of this flavor) .. looks like it would probably accept a couple more ML .. looks great on my GGTB, doesn't it ??

No leaks, even upside-down

Those Danco washers really worked out well Alan. It's great the way they seal that you can turn it upside down. Nice to lay them down without worrying about leakage.
I have 4 washer versions and they all work great on the Dual Cartos. Glad the clearo tube can withstand the washer pressure.
Looks really nice. These things are great. Beats paying for tanks. I see you went with the 1/2" washers. Nice fit huh?
Do you think the needle may score the seal?

Yup, those washers sure work great. I did as you suggested and drilled out the hole for a snug fit, made it tighter in the poly tube. I was afraid of cracking the CE2, otherwise it would be tighter still.

I like CE2's and, until I use up my stock, that will be the basis for my tank mods (unless I figure out how to clean the paper labels off prefilleds :) ) .. they leave sticky stuff on the metal that's hard to clean off. You don't want solvent getting into the packing (yuch), so I am so far trying sticky remover very carefully, I will try lighter fluid, thanks for your suggestion.

Next tank will use 1/2L, I got 2 of each size just to get started. Way too expensive at Ace Hardware.

Needle seems to slide in nicely, hasn't caused a leak. Perhaps if I always hit the same spot, it will eventually break the seal. So far, so good!

You are my inspiration!!

Very nice, Wizard!

And as for the CE2 label question....

Why not just remove the acrylic tube from it all together?

Isn't that how its done with a MAP Tank?

Will the Danco top hole hold a stainless steel threaded shell?

I mean, couldn't you just tap out the Danco far enough to fit a spent SS atty shell with the coil & the center post removed....leaving just enough room in the Danco to stabilize the CE2 ceramic?

Or would that cause a leak?

It would be cool if you could figure out a way to tap it and not have it leak cuz shell-less CE2's are VERY inexpensive!

My very first attempts with tanks did, indeed, have the acrylic tube removed. I thought that was the way you did it (like a MAP Tank) .. I always had trouble getting those silicone seals on the top right, always had trouble leaking if laying down. And the bottom seal was a bugger bear.

But ever since I saw some of the newer tanks, I discovered that it works just as well (IMHO) to leave the carto tube ON and just perforate it to allow juice to be replenished as needed. Besides, it just feels more stable and solid than my older tanks.

I am happy with the Godzillamizer line, solid, easy to fill, and the V3 can be held completely upsidedown and shaken without leaks. Thanks to Dave for guidance and help.

Soooooo, what happens when you fry that CE2 and your tank is full of juice?

You got a drain plug on that somewhere?

Just pop off either the top or bottom Danco and pour it out. I've done it a couple of times with some nasty experimental juice.

Ahhhh, I thought the Danco's were a permanent part of the tube cuz you talked about Al breaking "the seal" with a syringe.

Ya see, there ya go confusing the Chimp again.... :o

I meant that you should open a fan Club store and sell T-shirts and "BreakTru" fan-fare.....

Cuz sooner or later the groupies are gonna WIN and convince you to build and sell your art!

So you may as well just throw in the towel now, Dave and concede.  :D

Thank you for the idea Mr. Wizard.
