Title: Back up contacts
Post by: Breaktru on November 15, 2008, 04:43:38 PM
To back up the Phone book database. Copy the file C:\Program Files\MyPhone Book Dialer\MyPhone.mdb
to a floppy, CD, DVD, usb memory stick or external HD for safe keeping.
Windows 7 and Vista folder may be in:
Computer-Local Disk(C:)-Users-YourWindowsUserName-AppData-Local-VirtualStore-Program Files (x86)-MyPhone Book Dialer

Warning!
DO NOT open the database in any other software other than MyPhone book, as the file WILL become corrupt and unstable.

ONLY the MyPhone.mdb file should be copied to a new or alternate PC. The MyPhone Book Dialer should be installed first using the setup.exe The program files should be not copied from the original PC. ONLY the one file should be copied.

Thank god I backed up my file myphone.mdb.
I did a stupid thing the other day. I opened the file with Microsoft Access and edited it. Well after that I started getting errors when I tried to open the MyPhone Book Dialer program.
I replaced the database file with the back up I had made and all is now well.

That was smart of you Squance to make a back up. I try to stress the importance of backups for ALL programs. You can't imagine the emails I get from registrants who failed to back up. Especially my Payroll Software registrants who need to get their Payroll out and have lost everything do to a PC crash.
