Hello, The modem acts as if there is no dialtone.

You must set the Com port in the Dialer Settings. Did you also set the Area Code?
If you are not sure which com port, try each one until it works or go to Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options. Click on the Tab "Modem" you will see the com port number up at the top.
The Default com port is 3. Most modems use this port.
