Title: error reading setup initialization file
Post by: Breaktru on January 06, 2010, 07:04:27 PM
I am using XP and tried to install your Payroll Software. I get the errror message: "error reading setup initialization file"

I've searched the web and found several sites that claim that this error is possibly caused by a corrupt download file. See search results:
1) This error is usually the result of an unsuccessful download. Sometimes an installer package will have appeared to have downloaded successfully, because no error message was given about the download; however, you will not always receive an error message when the entire file was not downloaded successfully. When you run the exe file, it has enough information available to start running, but it will only get far enough to provide the error message shown above. Since it does not have the complete file content, it will not be able to read the setup initialization file.
If you receive this error message, you will need to try downloading the file again after following step 2.

2) Search you entire PC by going to Start, Search, All Files and Folders. Look for the downloaded files. pay2k.exe and and deleted them before downloading a new copy.
3) Are you saving the file to your machine and then running it? Please choose Save, rather than Run, in the download dialog.
Once the file is downloaded, just double-click on it to start the installation.
Use: and save it to a folder before running.
