I just mixed up a batch of the Cowboy DK. I really like it. But I had to mix it at way above the flavor strength or your recipe. Maybe others have a more sensitive pallet than mine but I am mixing my flavors at 25%. I also added some Honeysuckle to it and it add a very cool sweet floral taste.

So my recipe for "Honeysuckle Yum Yum" is:

2.5ml DK/M-Type mix
.5ml Honeysuckle
5ml VG
2.5ml 100mg/ml nic

10ml of 25mg/ml mix

I get all my stuff with as little PG as possible, I like VG way better.

1.0ml DK

  .5ml Honeysuckle
7.5ml 100mg/ml nic

10ml of 25mg/ml mix

I get all my stuff with as little PG as possible, I like VG way better.

Is this one using about 40mg nic level? Seems pretty high but flavors seem ok for high vg mix.

Im using the cowboy dk as a base. I tried one with black sesame seed and hazelnut. Trying to find an open atty. The flavors I have to work with right now are black sesame seed, hazelnut, english toffee, honeysuckle and ry4.
The black sesame seed is very potent and lends a kind of peanut tai food, smokey flavor in very small doses.

A word of warning, I don't know what did it but either the black sesame seed or honeysuckle will make the mix cloud up and leaves a film inside my T3

Hi all! New member here. Vaping and analog free for two years, but just starting to DiY!

I downloaded the ejuicemeup software and it seems like a wonderful program! I can't wait to start using it!  The first batch of ejuice I would love to make is the "Bahama Mamma" listed on this forum.  I'm buying from myfreedomsmokes.com and I've found all the flavor concentrates there except "Mango" and "Orange".  The flavor suppliers on myfreedomsmokes.com are "Flavourart",  "The Flavor Apprentice" and "Lorann".  None of them have the Mango or Orange flavor concentrate.  Is there a better website to buy flavors? More selection of flavors maybe?

Thanks, and please pardon my newbness! lol

Thank you so much for the link and coupon code Breakthru!  :D

Looks like I have a supplier for all my DiY needs! Nice website with a huge selection!

I do have another question.  Are the oil based flavoring stronger than the PG based flavorings?
For instance http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-flavoring-lorann-flavors-1-dram-c-16_18/orange-oil-natural-p-1311

VS.

http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-flavoring-flavourart-condensed-c-16_29/orange-by-flavourart-select-size-p-453

Thanks again! :)

I have not tried the oil based. I would assume that it would gum up the coils more than a PG based. ???
And........ PG would blend into your mix better than oil... I am only assuming.

JV, also try to avoid anything that is thinned with tricetin (sp?) it is water soluble but it won't mix with PG or VG. I have tried flavour art and lorann and I found the flavors to be nonexistent. I buy all my flavors now from the Perfumers Apprentice.

Often times, when working with oily type flavorings, you must use PGA (everclear) to dissolve the oils into a vapeable mixture. You will see this best when steeping out a mixture and it separates. Add some PGA to it, and most times, it will stay mixed and not gunk up your coils. For me, when using tobaccos, I use equal amounts of PGA. No rings left in the bottles, no junk in the gunk, and the flavors stay mixed. While I am no expert in this, just reporting my findings.
I use TPA's DK style at 2-3% and it is pretty strong for almost all of my customers. Some flavors, I have found, if I use less, I get more flavor out of them, while others, like watermelon, I have to use high percentages.

I'm sticking with my PG based flavors. Early on making recipes I found that oil base gummed up my atty.
Good idea Sweet Vapors with adding PGA but I don't like using PGA because I find it dulls the taste of the flavoring. Does anyone else find that too?

Does anyone make a tricetin based nicotine concetrate or how to use triacetan based flavors so they won't cloud and will mix well?

most of the tobacco flavors are oil based. You need to use PGA (everclear) to reduce the oil to vapeable and will stay mixed. I typically use the same amount of PGA as I do tobacco base or other oil flavors and have not noticed any of the separating problems. It also seems to be a good rule of thumb on those flavors that are known tank crackers. Seems to change the properties enough to stop them from breaking tanks, but can't be positive. Still looking into it though.

Hope this tip helps!

BTW I never use vodka in my mixes, the alcohol content is not high enough to break down the oils. If I had a good source of Ethyl Alcohol, I would use that instead, but PGA works fine.

I use about 6% PGA (Everclear 190) overall in my mixes.  That comes from thinning the VG about 16% with PGA using a 60% PG / 40% VG mix.  I like the difference in taste I get, I can taste the alcohol a little bit.  I don't find that it dulls the flavor, but rather, it makes the vapors feel lighter, like a higher PG mix.  It does reduce vapor production a little bit, but my juice is just a little too thick otherwise.  I much prefer thinning my VG with PGA as opposed to pure water.

Do you mean the recipes? Most of the recipes I whip up are FA (FlavourArt).
My thought on Name Brand flavors is, use what you have.
If I find a recipe that looks good, I'm going to use the flavor brand I have. I won't go out and buy a particular brand flavor for a recipe unless I don't have that flavor at all.

As far as some brand flavors being stronger than others and may require a less of a percentage, the flavor percent should be tweaked anyway due to the individual having a different preference on strength. Following a recipe to the "T" don't always work out for some. Tweaking is needed.

The original is called Radiator Pluid.
There is a Pluid clone recipe in the web database. Haven't tried it and I'm not sure if it is an exact duplication.

I have just joined this GREAT forum so I could thank everyone for these lovely recipes. I'm fairly new to vaping and have found that not only has it helped me quit smoking, but is helping me loose weight too. The sweeter flavours are stopping my craving for sweets and chocolate. Lol

Look forward to trying some.

That's 37% flavoring? Seems a bit much

I was looking at several Candy Tootsie Roll recipes and came up with this. What's missing is White Corn Syrup. They don't make a flavoring for corn syrup.

I just read a WARNING for the Condensed Milk. See: See Warning

Perhaps a substitute of Sweet Cream would do.

The above link specifies:

Condensed Milk from FlavourArt

Warning: This flavor contains Diacetyl and/or related diketones. Not suitable for vaping.

Comes in dropper bottle.

Food grade flavorings imported from Italy.

Contains propylene glycol and artificial flavor.

Not sure if it exists but is there a way to put the flavors in a program and it would pop out a list of juices you can make using them?

Breaktru,
Not sure if it exists but is there a way to put the flavors in a program and it would pop out a list of juices you can make using them?

Z:   There is a 2 page list of what goes well with what and I just spent 10 minutes going thru everything in, on, and around my desk looking for my copy so I could pass the address on to you.  You guessed it.  No luck.   freaked_out:   :wallbash:   If you click on the ejuice me up calculator and then on the "Web Site" heading you can go to the Breaktru recipe file.  It is a pretty good collection.  Another good recipe selection is on the One Stop DIY Shop site.  When I locate that list, I will post it.

It does sound really good.
I was looking at several Candy Tootsie Roll recipes and came up with this. What's missing is White Corn Syrup. They don't make a flavoring for corn syrup.

BT:  Your Tootsie Roll recipe is steeping in my drawer as we speak.  The only difference is instead of Dark Chocolate I used Double Dutch Chocolate.  I expect my Dark Chocolate to arrive today and if my batch of TR suit me, I will remake it with the Dark Chocolate.

I did the TR and have had it steeping since the 18th of June.  Each time I try it, it is just to weak flavored for me.  I'm going to try it again with 20% on the Chocolate and up the rest proportionately, except the sweetener.  That I'm going to get a little heavy handed with.  So, stay tuned kiddies .

PGA is "Pure Grain Alcohol" such as Everclear. You can substitute it with Volka. PGA has a higher Alcohol content (Proof).

I never thinned out my mix. Some find that when they are using a high VG ratio like 100%, they dilute with distilled water or PGA/Vodka.
