This is from a post that I made over at ECF:It took me a long time to find a good recipe. I've tried so many nasty ones that I almost gave up. Right now I have several good ones that weened me off of pre-mixed juices. The juice is dead, long live the DIY juice.Don't give up, keep on trying until you find your perfect mix.I have several brands of concentrate flavoring and find that I like the FlavourArt the best. Mind you, this is MY favorite, to each his own.I found that the success of a good ejuice is NOT to try to copy/recreate a vendors pre-mix ejuice but to come up with your own or a recommended recipe.
if i use an 85% vg/15% de-ionised water base-how do i calculate how much 100% pg nicotine e-juice do i add to make 50 ml using the ejuicemeup calculator?i use 54 mg strength nicotine, i want to reduce it to 24 mg-using my above-named base. So why does the calculator keep asking me to add morepg? :)almur
Hi, againI don't think I made myself clear last time-so I'll try again.I have my base liquid, which I made from 85% vg and 15% de-ionised water.I've got pg nicotine e-juice-at 54 mg strength, and I want to reduce this to 24 mg-using the above base, and end up with 50 ml.thanksalmur
Hi, againsorry I didn't say thanks for your reply to mixing mix-up-good site-but not too many up to date post-ins.almur
What does adding distilled water to your mix do? Example: If I want to thin out VG with water what will this do to the overall taste or makeup of the VG and the batch as a whole? My point is to end up with a higher VG with out it being so thick and hard to work with. thanks Dan
I sit my bottle of VG in a pot of hot tap water for several minutes. It makes it easier to draw the VG into a syringe.
Im new to mixing and have a question. I bought 100 mg nicotine, mixed it with VG 50/50. when using the calculator what percentage of nic do I put down as beginning nic strength? would it be 100 mg or 50?thanks for the helpalso 2 of my flavors have a soapy taste to it, can anyone tell me why?
Hi littlebit and welcome to the forum. You put 100 in the box next to mg. 50/50 is the PG/VG percentage. So you would put 50 for PG and 50 for VG. This all goes on the first line of the calculator.Have you tried other flavoring besides the 2 that taste soapy? If all tastes soapy it could be the Nic, VG or PG. Did you clean out the bottle before pouring in the mix? Maybe soap residue. What company brand of flavor are they and what flavor are they?
I bought 120ml of 100 mg nic and mixed it with 120ml of vg. i want a vape strength to be 12I cut it so it would be safer to use
After I make a recipe, I shake vigorously for several minutes. And in between use I also shake. This is how I shake my mixes:[attachment deleted by admin. Photo would not display, had been corrupted]
I am about to create a mix that has PGA and Water. I'm assuming that Everclear is the PGA, and Distilled water would be the water of choice. Is that correct?
I received a bottle of Black Honey Tobacco by The Flavor Apprentice the other day. It is marketed as being similar to Captain Black pipe tobacco. I've smoked Captain Black many years ago and I can tell you it is no Captain Black. I have been dying to find something like C.B. Some people claim the honey is overpowering and no tobacco taste. I find a liquorice under tone mostly.I will have to work this flavor a bit and see what I can do to make it better. Good thing I only made 3ml @ 5%.
Dave: Wizard Labs make a good Capt. Black and a DK555, but it is not, as you said, C.B. However, mix C.B. and DK555 50/50 and see how you like that. If it is close you can always slide one or both to get the Blue Ribbon tobacco vape. The other combo to try is DK555 and RL Camel. If that is not sweet enough, add some English Blend or M Type.
Thanks Eric may try that. I had added 1/2 Black Honey Tobb and 1/2 Burley Tobb which improved it. Not as sweet as before and more to my liking. The Liquorice taste has disappeared. Still no C.B. but better than before. How are you feeling buddy? Hope much better.
Hi all,,can someone let me know what is a good percentage to use for Lorann's oil flavoring. I know its pretty strong so I was thinking it should be less that 20%. I am a newbie to DIY,,,thanks in advance
Is it better to leave a new open to the air or leave it capped?
