Percentages/Calculation?
« on: November 16, 2010, 11:26:18 PM »
I'm a bit confused on applying percentages in the calculation. Is there a way that you can make a go by chart to describe percentages?

Thanks!

From what I have found from using the eJuice calculator is that your multiple flavoring percentages have to total the percentage of flavor you want to add.

I have seen some recipes out there that show flavoring equaling 100%. Of course they are talking about flavoring only. The calculator breaks down each added ingredient and the final out come equals 100%. Flavoring added to your eJuice is usually between 10% - 20%.
Say you have a recipe that shows:
25% Flavor 1
25% Flavor 2
25% Flavor 3
25% Flavor 4
It does not tell you how strong the flavoring is for your ejuice just the percentage of what you will decide you want to use.
If you want your flavor strength to be say 20% for simplicity, you would add:
4% Flavor 1
4% Flavor 2
4% Flavor 3
4% Flavor 4
which now adds up to the 16% of flavoring you will add to your eJuice.

On the Menu Bar, Click "Tools", "Flavor Percentage"

Need some advice. First timer.

This is what I have on the calculator. But it will not give me amounts I need.
Nicotine strength is 36mg. Target 24mg e-juice VG no PG
Making 5ml
was going to add 20% vodka
40% coffee flavor I made using VG to Defuse the coffee.
Keep getting error saying I need to add more VG
It is giving a -0.33ml on the VG
How do I correct my calculation?

Hey Tomboy,
Looks like you are using too much vodka. Doesn't leave much room for cutting down your Nic strength

blueeyes is on the right track. Yes your 20% Vodka percentage is high but also 40% flavoring? That's 60% which leaves NO allowance for PG or VG. To reduce the strength of 36mg to 24mg you would need 33 % of combined liquids. Your 60% of alcohol + flavoring is almost double hence the negative numbers and warning pop-up.

AorphiA,
Have you tried the new version 7 with the flavor percentage breakdown yet?

Hi all,
Firstly your calculator is great, but I have a question about this ejuice I am buying, the chinese company calls it best mix 11 and it is a 48mg VG+Peg400 but I do not know the percentages of either, maybe someone has bought this before, the PEG 400 is supposedly a more purer version of normal PG ??,question is, if this PEG is not available to me would normal PG do the same thing when diluting?

PEG a new ingredient, instead of PG and VG

With the Percentage tool, I am able to translate recipes that I found at ECF so I can use them with your eJuice Me Up calculator and have a better understanding of what the percentages mean.
I looked at recipes saying:
50% of Flav1
30% of Flav2
20% of Flav3
Didn't make sense until I used your Percentage tool to convert.
Math is not my strongest point.

10% Flavor3
which now adds up to the 20% of flavoring you will add to your eJuice.

BTW: eJuice Me Up version 6.2.0.0 has been released last night. See version history on web page for added features at:http://ejuice.breaktru.com

Update:
version 7 now has a flavor percentage breakdown option.

Suppor!nice suggestion!

I don't think this is the right question for this "Percentage/Calculation" topic. See my post to your "Taste Buds Help" topic
