Long Term Ejuice Storage?
« on: June 22, 2011, 11:59:42 PM »
As with everything in my life, I have gotten carried away and bought way more e-liquid than I could use in the short-term. I want to freeze some of it, but would like to know if this would ruin the juice before I do.

Any thoughts or experiences please ....

From what I have read thus far, suppliers claim a 2 year shelf life if kept out of direct sunlight and in a cool place.
I personally would not freeze it, but perhaps place it in the refrigerator.

I found this on ECF and makes a lot of sense:

The thicker the liquid (more VG than PG) the more dense the liquid gets in the freezer. Also When thawed out water crystals form and ruin the VG from my experience. I did an experiment with VG and flavored tea's

The freezer to cool the VG down ruined the batch I haven't tried again due to pure laziness so I have no idea..... But my experience It would be best to store in the fridge not freezer.

makes sense to me. 'Refridge" for long time storage.

The shelf-life is not determined by the date of sale. It is 18 months from the date of manufacture, according to Dekang. So in order to determine its actual age, you first have to find out when it was made and how long its been sitting on a supplier's shelf AND assuming that its been stored properly.....

But freezing would probably be a really bad idea, IMO.

If you can vacuum it down and remove the oxygen and keep it in dark glass bottle in a fridge at 40 degrees it will not oxidize it can last for over 5 years according to my neighbor and his wife who are both chemist at a local college  and they both vape and are part of the six people that bought 500ml of 100mg VG and 500ml of 100mg PG we use FoodSaver T03-0024-01 3-Pack Bottle Stoppers here is a link http://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-T03-0024-01-3-Pack-Bottle-Stoppers/dp/B0000CFPH9/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3DVXCXN284IQI&colid=2YM8DO3MRILJ7 we keep it in my beer fridge in my garage and we get together about once a month to make up juice and drink some of my home brewed beer.
