What is the Warning Pop-Up Window about Negative Amounts?

I usually make almost 100% VG juices... the only PG is the flavorings... but I've had a hard time using the calculator when trying to do this. (see the attatched picture) If I input 100% VG for nic base and 100% PG for flavoring, it will still ask me to put in PG to the mix, and if I dont I get an error. I could just be doing something wrong though. Any help would be much appreciated.
The calculations are correct. A neg PG amount was generated because of the added total of 15% PG in your 2 flavoring.
Put 17.5% PG in the PG result as shown in the Pix below. This is the TRUE result due to the PG in the flavoring.

See below... getting a similar problem with a 100% PG mix using 5% water. Where's the VG coming from?

Because you are adding 5% in the Water/Vodka/PGA box. 5% is equally deducted from PG (2.5%) and VG (2.5%) Result equally. It's the VG 2.5% that's giving the neg result.

I just wanted to note that the newer versions display the negative amount in RED text

I am new to DIY and getting ready to buy my supplies. I have a simular problem and hope you can help. I am trying to do a 100% VG blend. I'm using 100% VG, 100 VG Flavor, Distilled Water, and My Nic is 100% VG. My question is why do I have to have PG in my target to get everything to work out right on the calc. Thanks in advance for your help.

Using 10% water will split the difference for PG and VG deducting 5% PG and 5% VG.
Putting 5% as your Target PG like you did will ensure a final all VG result.

Sorry to post this here, but I've only just activated my account, and cannot seem to post a new topic yet.
I have a similar issue when using the 'no PG/VG' tick-box in the calculator, and trying to make %100 VG juice.

When using ethyl alcohol based flavourings, obviously I won't get true %100 VG juice, but the calculator is still outputting a negative amount of PG in the final.
The only way around I've found is, if for example using 5% flavour, is to calculate the final percentages as 2.5%PG/97.5%VG- which then displays '0ml' for the PG to add.  I have no extra water/vodka calculated into the mix- so what maths-magic/workaround can I use to ensure I am getting 30ml of '%100 VG juice', aside from the 1.5ml of ethyl alcohol based flavouring in it?

I just want to ensure accuracy and safety in my mixes, and would like to understand completely what the calculator is outputting for me.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Orgasmo.

Using the checkbox No PG/VG in flavoring does the same as I mentioned in Reply #4

What ever flavoring percentage you enter will be equally deducted from PG and VG.

Adjust your Target PG/VG ratio accordingly as you already did.

So when no PG is involved and the calculator gives you 0 drops for PG but some of the numbers are negative, the recipe is still good?

I'm having a  similar issue. :D

I'm using essential oils that I don't think have any PG. I'm not sure but I don't think they use a liquid carrier of any sort. No matter how I adjust the PG in the calc I just can't get it to balance.

You are starting with Nic at 50/50 PG ratio and trying to make it 100% VG.
By adding 15% water, half (7%) is added to PG and the other 7% is added to the VG final ratio.
The same thing applies by checking the boxes "Zero PG/VG" in the flavor lines. Half of the flavoring percentage is equally divided and added to the PG/VG ratio.
Your final Target PG/VG ratio needs to be adjusted. The highest VG ratio will be 85.65% with what you are using.

Thanks, I goofed on my ratio, it's supposed to be 100%VG, but that still gives me a good work around.

I was wondering what to do in this case.

Another new user here. I'd like to see a "Check Box" by the preferred PG/VG ratio so as to basically turn it off. When mixing small test batches, one drop of a flavor enhancer can change ALL the ratios! It's a little tough to go less than one drop. I would like to be able to input my desired PG/VG ratio, check that box, then have it adjust according to what I am actually putting in the mix. Then I can see how close I am to my targeted ratio. I was mixing up a batch with 1 main flavor and then minute amounts of Sweet and Sour. Those enhancers were also PG based so I went over and I got the dreaded Negative PG numbers. In order to get that PG out of the negative and close to zero, I had to go tinker around with the preferred ratio numbers, inputting decimals here and there - which got me "Exception Errors", but just clicked continue and it kept working...- until finally I got a near zero positive PG add. I'd rather have it work the other way. Tell me that I am going over or under a desired ratio, but let me decide if that is OK.

Welcome to the forum APRock.
I hear your concerns. I will consider your suggestion.

In the meantime, If you get a negative PG, deduct the PG total % number from the Target VG %.
Example: The PG result shows "-2.5%" and your Target VG is 50%. Subtract 2.5% from 50%. Make the target VG 47.5%.
