Godzillamizer v2
« on: August 07, 2011, 10:18:50 PM »
Last month I built myself a tank mod, nothing special, just a Madvapes 22mm vial with top and a perforated CE2 clearo XL ... has been working like gangbusters for a month, not too bad for about 3 bucks!! Have seen similar tankmods made by several of you, kudos to my predecessors, you know who you are!

Godzillamizer v1

The problem is that, when the CE2 goes south, you toss the whole thing because the CE2 is sealed into the tank.

I have been reading about a tankmod from Goodprophets that a CE2 screws into. When the CE2 bites the dust, just unscrew the old unit and screw in a new one. Vape on!!! I decided I could do something like that!!

Here's my concept...

Godzillamizer V2 pictures
Started with the MV vial and a new XL CE2

Drill a CE2-sized hole top and bottom

Mount a short 510 extension in the bottom of the vial. For this I used GP's eGo/510 adapter

and assemble the unit

This is still a work in progress:

What needs still to be done:
1. Seal the eGo/510 adapter to the vial
2. perforate the Clearomizer
3. Resurface the eGo adapter to get rid of the 2 air grooves
4. Get some o-rings to seal the CE2 to the adapter

Also, I may have a problem with too hard a draw, but I will work this out.

As a side note: the eGo/510 adapter screws on perfectly to all my mods EXCEPT my GGTB. I thought all 510 threads were the same, guess not ???

I will continue this thread as I progress.

Did I forget to mention it cost me less than 2 bucks, not counting the replaceable cartomizer

Nice Alan,
I've made some easy Dual Coil tanks. The carto's are easy to slide in and out.

It's like this but I use different end caps

Part 2:

Well, here's what I have done so far:

1. eGo adapter was ground flat and sealed into vial

2. I perforated the CE2 .. last time I cut slits with my dremel, this time I am trying tiny holes drilled thru the plastic tube. Low holes to pull juice, high holes for ventilation. One thing I noticed with Godzillamiser v1 is that the CE2 fluid level tends to be higher than the tank itself. Thought that high holes may equalize the fluid levels

This mod takes 2 o-rings: one (as shown) that seals the hole in the lid so that it doesn't leak when layed down (works pretty good)

And another o-ring sealing under-fluid connection between carto and adapter (this will have to wait until I hit the hardware)

More to come :)

WOW, looks like I am makin this too difficult  ::)

Heck, it's fun anyway:) What end caps do you use? I have tried tapered bib washers but they're a pain!

Well, finished it!!

Got the o-ring

Screwed in the perforated CE2XL and filled it with vanilla ejuice

Well, it works pretty well!!!

Did notice that, with the tiny perforation holes, it took a couple of minutes for the wicks to get wet. Also, it draws kinda hard, having only the center hole for air. I will try and figure out how to get a little better air flow.

Watch out now, Al's getting serious, he's got his glasses on.

It's really come along quite nice. The O-Ring is a good idea.

That's right :)  Yah, this thing is not leaking a bit unless I turn it upsidedown. Need a better way to seal the hole in the vial top, I have an o-ring around the CE2, it helps but it's not perfect.

Like that tank you were talking about, the one you slip in a carto .. you said you were using different caps, can you be more specific? Thanks

They are not machined w/ o-rings. They are just faucet washers, glued on to metal washers like this: http://breaktru.com/smf/index.php/topic,310.0.html

How is the CE2 holding up Alan. How is the wicking working out?

So far it is wicking fine. I do know that, with the short extension I am using in the base, the liquid level will get too low to make it into the carto. Also, I am not using it much, because it draws too hard. I am gonna have to figure out a way to get more airflow, maybe one of those extensions from MV you were talking about. More experimenting :)bBut, as far as wicking is concerned, those multiple holes I drilled in the carto seem to do the trick
