My Newest Tank, The Silver Surfer v1
« on: October 09, 2011, 11:11:45 PM »
Here is my latest .. a Breaktru-inspired lined metal tank, designed for my Indulgence PV.

Taken with Kamoso software and Ubuntu 10.04
Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It was made from a Madvapes 22mm Vial for the tank, a CE2-XL 2.4 ohm 3ml syringe-modded cartomizer, and the barrel from a Dollar Tree 3LED Aluminum Flashlight. It has a 10ml capacity, though it should only be filled to about 5-6ml, due to the possibility of flooding the CE2 element.

Cost to build:

FL: $1 (Dollar Tree)
Vial: $.59 (Madvapes)
Syringe: .25 (WM Pharmacy)
CE2XL: about $2 (Madvapes)
Danco Size 1/2 Flaqt Washers: .40 for 2

Total cost for all components: about 4-1/2 bucks

Oh, did I mention that it vapes great at 3.7v and doesn't leak a whit!!

PS: Renamed it to Titanic, didn't realize the Silver Surfer name was in use by a company that makes "herbal" vaporizers (if you know what I mean) LOL

Also .. correction: it was made of a 25ml vial (checked my MV order), not a 22ml as I had originally thought. Sorry

Still going strong .. though I have a prob with a little oozing where the syringe-mod comes thru the screw-on top, not much but still :)

I have a confession .. since I discovered the giant SMOK dual coil carto, I have much less interest in actually using tanks. The SMOK will hold about 5ml of juice and vapes like a monster .. and it doesn't leak a whit .. and they're only about 3 bucks each. They're made for egos, but the ego to 510 adapter screws right in and, hopefully, makes a good electrical connection LOL

If they made them in SS, boy could you make a neat tank :)

Yep, those are big time popular on the 'other' forum you signed up on but I never see ya there?

They're called "Honkers" over there....(short for "big honkers")

The ladies over there just RAAAVE about them and each one seems to last about a MONTH!??

I've never used one, but you can buy them in bulk direct from the manufacturer and save a fortune!  :yes"

Just an idea if you want to make a tank out of that.  I am not sure what it is made of, but I took a black 510 atomizer apart because I am thinking of using it to make a charger connection.  I wanted it to be shiny like SS so I took a dremel and a burnishing brush and stripped all of the black of of it and it looks just like a SS atomizer know.  Like I said not sure what those are made of.

Todd, it sure looks foggy there in ND LOL

Really, with a 5ml capacity, it may be overkill to wrap it in a big tank ??? I don't k ow what it's made of, though looking inside, you can see that it's some type of thin metal and has been spray-painted flat black (you can see some overspray inside) ..

That Titanic looks custom machined. Very smooth.
