Scorpio Copper Mod
« on: April 26, 2013, 08:30:32 AM »
I used the Ti PTN04050 booster chip along with a p-channel mosfet to create  a touch switch. Incorporated a blue LED just under the hand made scorpion touch sensor.  used 3/4" L-type copper. This mod uses 1 - 18650, flattop or button type.  Thanks for all the help in the past guys  More pics @ learfx.com

Another great copper mod. It should be entered in an Art Show. Great work Lear.
What battery are you using? How does the LED turn on? is it switched?

Thanks for the kind words... Just for the record, I did not create the images on the mod. My friend found the images he wanted  and I edited them to the correct size and then electro etched them into the mod. I can't draw that good lol!

I am able to use any 18650 battery, trustfire, panisonic and aw's,  flat top or button top. Those are all the battery types I have.  The only way I could make the LED work was to connect it to the power going to the atty. So when I touch the sensor the light turns on and the atty gets power.  I tested it under load using a fully charged aw imr battery and it dropped from 4.10 to 4.08 volts using a 1.7 ohm clearomizer. It may not be the most efficient way to wire it up  but it vapes good and the battery lasts all day with moderate vaping. The touch switch is flawless. I used  the schematics you posted here on this site for the Ti chip and mosfet. Thanks again Breaktru!

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing with everyone and thanks for all the details. That's the one thing that people seem to leave out of their mods.... details.

I really appreciate it.

Hi LearFX,

Wanted to ask you a question....  I have seen some etching where the parts of the etching turns out a lot darker. Can you tell me how that works or maybe how to do it?

Thanks!
