The Hammer (26650 Tube Mod)
« on: May 30, 2013, 07:31:09 PM »
For the past month or so I have been working on this mechanical. Called the Hammer, it's a tube mod designed to look like the grip of a hammer or gavel. I plan on having it made of Stainless Steel soon. Right now I am finishing up the CAD blueprints and then sending it off to a machinist. Last night I was showing it off in the VapeTV Live chatroom and I had 6 or 7 people tell me they wanted one.

At first it started as a bottom plunger style switch but I was heavily encouraged to do a side top switch instead. I like how it turned out in the render either way. I really enjoyed designing this mod and I really want to see it come to life.

26650 Cell
Stainless body
Brass Contacts
Copper hot-spring

1.32" OD 4.7" Height

That's a cool looking design
Are those vent slots or simply decorative?

Very nice. Your Cad work is excellent. Any electronics in there

They are decorative, its not apparent in the render with the angle, but the vents are up in the switch assembly just above the threads.

Thank you.  There are no electronics at all in it, it's completely mechanical.

Great work  :applaude:

The vents, hopefully not directed at your face.

Nice design!  I'm a variable wattage guy myself and not into mechs but I'll bet once people see that they are going to want it!

Excellent design work. I'm not a CAD person, but it seems like a good talent to have. I like the button being on the top. I've never tried one of the bottom buttons, but I always thought I wouldn't like them. Top buttons are much better IMO.

Good luck with getting it machined. You'll have to show it off when it's complete are you at least have the first prototype done.

Great work :)
