Mini mod
« on: August 26, 2013, 09:55:49 PM »
I've done the 2 AA box mod and was thinking how can it be more compact? Hmmmmm  wonder if I could recess a cartomozer into the box. Well I stopped by rat shack and a few hours later.....
Let me know what ya think  :D

Looks pretty good.  Love little boxes myself, more so than the 18350 tubes, but I'm partial since boxes are all I build.

If you want to go with a lower resistance like a 1.5 Ohm dual coil carto, you can use the AW IMR 14500s, they're good for 5 Amps.  Those Trusfire protected 14500s are pretty weak.  You'll get a lot better output with an AW IMR cell.

Thanks for the tip on the AW IMR. Gonna have to pick a few of them up.

Nice mod Methos. I used to like the big batteries, but now that I started making mini tube mods, I love how small they are and I can use 350s in it. Like how you got your cartomizer recessed. Makes it even more stealth.

Keep up the great work!

Well have fun with that new order. I'm dead in the water until the first of the month when I will get more money. So I'm just going to lay low on my mods for a bit. Hope you do make one smaller. I really have started to like the smaller ones these days.

It does feel good to make it yourself. I've been away from electronics for a few years so vapeing has resparked it in me. Can't wait for the next project.

I just checked, and my smallest tank will not fit in that bay.  >:( I guess I'll have to stick to larger boxes.

That's why I used a carto. The bigger (longer) ones hold about 2 mil so they will last for awhile.

The main thing I need is switches. I have a couple of those snap action switches, but it seems like I'm doomed when it comes to making them work. Probably need to wait until the next video :) I found a place to get the C&K switches for half the price that Madvapes charges, so I'll probably get them from there next time.

Also, someone is making me a custom vape stand, and that will take half of my allowance money, but he makes really nice stands.

Sorry, but I jumped the gun on that one. Turns out that it was not the right switch. I'm doing a search now and if/when I come up with something, I will post a link.

Hi Visus, Thanks for the link but I was specifically talking about the C&K brand switches. I know there are other switches out there that are cheaper, but the C&K switches are really good and hold up well.

The C&K brand is what most people use here, but if the people where you are think think the other switch is good, maybe I will look into them. Thanks for the info :)

I took a look at the hours and the mech operations the 75c switch has better numbers but -- and the price is awesome.
I probably will be making my mods next month or in jan I probably will go with that sw --in a few years time I will say  of its quality.

I've used those switches before. There okay but they can't compare to the quality of the C&K switch.
I used it in my first copper mod and just recently on the last Spark-O-Matic.
They sell them also on ebay by various China venders. Here is one but there are many other venders: 10pcs
