Little Blue DNA30
« on: January 28, 2014, 01:59:54 AM »
I found a tiny aluminum case on eBay the other day and bought a few to try and put a DNA30 into. The case is found here and it is very tiny.  Measures 2.2" x 2" x 0.9" (58mm x 50 x 24) Should give me pretty good practice for when my big run of stealth mods come up. As I work on it, I'll post updates. I need to get a few parts such as Mamu's clear OLED screen frame, a few PTC fuses and the cells I'm going to use. I'm going to aim for about 1500mah for this one. Picture of the case below next to the VaporShark DNA for comparison. The shark measures 2.9 in x 1.4 x 0.78 (74mm x 36mm x 20mm)

Done with the CAD model and placement. I might move the buttons down a touch more. Next will be to make blueprints so I can have the exact measurements for everything.

I've had some of those cases for a while.  Got at fasttech: http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004828/1373303-505824mm-aluminum-external-enclosure-case-for-elec

Haven't modded it yet, but what I planned to do is have the end caps on the side instead of top and bottom so it would be 58mm in height and 50mm in width.

It's a pretty blue color.

Looks to me it would be a bit awkward in the hand

It might be a little awkward yes but if I can get away without modifying the case any further I'll do it that way. My skills with a dremel aren't the best.  :laughing2:

SLA?  I thought we used LiPos now....Like http://www.batteryspace.com/Powerizer-LiFePO4-Battery-12V-25Ah-300Wh-50A-rate-with-PCB-and-LED.aspx ....

I'm going to email Brandon and ask him if it's feasible to daisychain 3 of the DNA chargers together, to charge that battery.   I'll keep you posted... :laughing2:
