PTN04050C - Boost DC-DC Converter Distributors

I started out with free samples but now buy from a Distributor.
Here is a list of Distributors. The cheapest place is Arrow Electronics. You have to create an account. The shipping is outrageously high so check out these other distributors.

First,  Thanks for having this forum and letting me on it.

The  PTN04050C - Boost DC-DC Converter, may be just what I have been looking for.

I really like the "Puck" NIMH Mods.

I have been looking for something that would stabilize the output.

The sweet spot on a 4 battery puck is right around 5 volts.

This converter should work just fine.

I will let ya know as I go along

Hi Lonnie, nice to have you here in this little group of modders.  ;cheers;

The 04050c is a nice simple way to boost a single cell battery and keep the mod size down.

I was digging Farnell for this module, and found CAZ version:
http://pl.farnell.com/texas-instruments/ptn04050caz/ic-isr-6w-smd-4050/dp/1109720

it's of much higher availability (at least in polish warehouse). It's the same module, just in SMD version - but soldering pods for wiring are quite big :)

Thanks utak3r for the posting of availability and welcome to the forum.
Yes there are 4 Mounting Type. Two are through-hole (CAD and CAH) and two are surface mount (CAZ and CAS). They are identical circuit wise.
I use the surface mounts when I don't have the space but are harder to solder wires to.
