Jumper, sweet solder it the spring if you want the best low res connection I have made hundreds of mods so I say with much confidence and little arrogance but much wish well helpfulness , damn that is like poetry, that's really the way to go but do as you like and if you do it long enough and with many variations you too will find out what is best for you
I just soldered the two I made (my original still has the loose spring) by setting the cap on the stovetop like a tiny copper pot. Once it heat up enough, I put the spring in with hemostats and hit it with solder. Quick and easy. The battery springs from MadVapes has a perfect turn in the bottom for holding solder.
All you need to do is make a small ring of solder just small enough that it fits inside the bottom ring of the spring. You then set the solder ring on the bottom of the cap, put a little flux on the bottom of the spring, set the spring in the bottom of the copper cap, center the spring in the cap and heat it up until the solder melts........ Tits.
